If you choose this option, you can add the Skywalk to your booking and experience walking 4,000 feet (1,219 meters) above the Canyon floor on a glass bottom U-shaped bridge that juts out 70 feet from the Canyon's edge.

I did my research …. We had limited time and chose this 7 hour tour. Had to do the early one at 8am but it was absolutely the best decision. We had an amazing day from start to finish! Easy to book online but also good communication when I called to clarify details when booking. Picked up exactly on time at 6.34am from nearby hotel. Drove in minivan to Boulder City airport 30 mins away. After 15 mins, we boarded light aircraft (21 seater) but only about 11 of us so everyone had a window seat. Smooth 35 min flight to Grand Canyon, flying over Hoover dam and lake Mead. Had commentary and music via a headset. On arrival met by a guide who gave us our itinerary and straight away we had a safety briefing then boarded helicopters. My family of 3 had our own so we all had window and front seats. Spectacular trip into the canyon. Safe pilot… no heroics like other companies (which have folded). After 10 minutes we landed at a site by the Colorado river. Local native Indians were there to take us out on a boat down river (again just the 3 of us). Our captain then told us all about the history of his people and the canyon. It was beautiful to be on the water in the canyon. He took photos of us and took us back to the helicopter. We flew back to the main terminal where we had 2 hours free time. Our guide met us again and drove us to the first lookout . We bought tickets to the skywalk ($29 each) and walked out - amazing experience on the glass bottom walkway. We opted not to have the photographers take our photos but many people did that. There are 2 separate lines apparently but because it wasn’t busy we only waited 10 minutes to go out. Everything you are carrying is stored in free storage lockers. That’s right… no phones or cameras. We spent an hour at the skywalk site. Taking photos and looking at some recreated native dwellings. We caught the free shuttle 5 minutes to the other lookout , Guano lookout. We had an hour there and that was also the perfect amount of time. We took photos, walked around the point and climbed the rocky hill for an even higher view. Stunning vistas of the main canyon. We caught the free shuttle back to the main terminal where we waited about 15 minutes before boarding our same plane (with Fabulous pilots Dave and Dave) who flew us safely back to Boulder creek airport. We immediately boarded the minivan and were driven back to our hotel. Contrary to some other reviews, we had minimal waiting time, we had excellent guidance and communication at all stages and we had plenty of time. I feel that some of this was because we went in early March, not a peak season, and we went at 8am tour. I do feel for people whose tours were cancelled for bad weather but I can understand that safety comes first and I’m sure the company would rather go out and earn money but they can’t risk lives. Two tiny improvements… we were staying at New York New York and told to walk to Aria for pick up (15 mins) instead of Excalibur (3 mins). Not sure why. Also, we weren’t told about downloading the Grand Canyon West tour App until we were out of wifi area. Otherwise , could not fault was was an absolutely perfect day!

This was an amazing day out from Vegas - unforgettable. The small plane from boulder city really does have extra large windows for viewing - was stunning. We then had an opportunity to visit 2 spots on the western rim including the glass walkway (please note - you cannot take ANYTHING out onto this walkway- including cameras & phones - we knew this but many didnt). Longer at these 2 viewpoints would have been good. We then boarded our helicopter for a flight over & into the canyon where it lands to take you on a boat ride down the canyon & then the helicopter takes to the top again & then back on the small plane. With the combination of small plane, helicopter, boat ride & time at the rim this was an AMAZING day - thoroughly recommend. Because the day is very full, please note you are eating lunch on the run. Make sure you get very clear instructions on where you will be picked up in Vegas. Our pick up was changed & only given verbally, not in writing so was some confusion. Most pick ups in Vegas are not from main entrance & hotels in Vegas have numerous entrances. We met many people who missed their pick ups, hence their day trip out to the grand canyon.

There were so many, as expected, it was a day of firsts - small plane, helicopter & Colorado River pontoon rides, the skywalk over & of course the Great GRAND CANYON!!!
