On this 2 hour walking tour you will stroll down through the core of medieval Madrid accompanied by a guide. The winding streets of the Arch of Cutlers will lead you to some of the oldest buildings such as the house and tower of Lujanes where the King Francois I of France was held prisoner. We thought we got lucky because it was just us in the tour! Our guide was neither enthusiastic nor knowledgeable - as most walking tour guides we’ve had in major cities. She gave minimal or trivial information. She walked quietly between the few sights, very slowly as though on a promenade, we’d wait for her since she was constantly on her phone, and was taking time to take her own photos of sceneries. We tried to prompt her with questions. It was such a waste of our time. I didn’t tip for the first time. (I am usually generous for jobs well done.)

Nuria was an excellent, knowledgeable guide and we learnt a lot. Unfortunately the booking process was a bit chaotic and unsatisfactory.

Beatrice was absolutely fantastic! Besides being so friendly, she was so knowledgeable about the history and all of the locations we went to, giving us great suggestions as well as insight into Madrid now and in the past! She really enjoys her work and demonstrates it with much enthusiasm! She is a true professional! She would have continued with us as long as we wanted! We were very fortunate to have her as our guide! The Royal Palace was amazing and, luckily, because we went there first, it was still early and we beat the crowd. Madrid is definitely a walkable City, and by walking, you really have a chance to become acquainted with this great place!

Despite huge crowds from tge soccer championships our guide dod an excellent job maneuvering us around for an interesting first tour in madrid.
