Our driver Belan drove us to Alhambra from the Malaga cruise terminal without any problems even with her limited English. Once in Alhambra, the tour office (next to a restaurant) person was very courteous and coordinated with the tour person and the driver upon our completion of the tour of the garden even without our asking. The tour lady was fantastic and led our way through the garden without interruption. I highly recommended this tour.

Alhambra is the best example of a Moorish Fortress and palace. Spectacular intricate art on every wall and doorway. Large facility, lots of walking and some irregular stairs. Amazing garden areas. So much to see, we would welcome more time at each building.

Booked this tour because a member of our party wanted to do it, but none of the rest of us knew anything about the Alhambra. Thanks to excellent guide Felipe, I have a much better appreciation for this gem. Were picked up at cruise port in Malaga, driven to Grenada, taken to tour office, went on tour, and then had time for an excellent meal (pork cheeks in chocolate sauce???!!!) and then driven back to Malaga. Seamless execution, was the highlight of an 11 day cruise.

Please heed this warning! We booked this tour through the Trip Advisor company La Vacanza Travel for March 26, 2019. Two days before the tour, we realized we didn’t know what time the tour started (i.e., the departure time from the port of Malaga). So we checked the La Vacanza Travel website using our tickets as the reference information to get to the actual tour information. The departure time was listed as 8:30. We got to the place of departure at 7:55 AM and waited and waited and waited. After no one showed up, we contacted La Vacanza Travel who told us we missed the tour as the actual departure time was 7:30. They also suggested that I had received one email from the tour company about 5 months earlier. I am very precise about how I manage my emails and to my knowledge I never received that email. I did receive follow up emails from La Vacanza Travel reminding me of the tour but none included the departure time. When I sent an email to La Vacanza Travel complaining about the incorrect departure time shown on their website, they just referred to the email. So I asked for proof that I was sent the email. All they sent me was a cut and paste of the text of the email they said I received; but it did not include my actual email address. However, for goodwill, they said they would refund 1/2 our money. I contacted La Vacanza Travel thanked them for the goodwill, but asked again why their website showed the wrong departure time and that I still wanted proof of the email (and not just a cut and paste). They replied saying that I did receive the email from the actual tour company but provided no proof and that they had to pay that tour company because we were considered a ‘no show’. I replied to them saying that because I paid La Vacanza Travel, my contract for the service (i.e. tour) was with La Vacanza Travel and not the third party tour company and again I asked them why the departure time on their website was incorrect. This time, they replied saying they would provide more goodwill of a partial refund of 1/2 our money again. However, at no time, did La Vacanza Travel admit any wrongdoing on their part for the wrong departure time or provide me with proof I was sent the email. Here’s my bottom line. Even though we were pleased that La Vacanza Travel ended up refunding the full cost of our tour, we would have preferred to have taken the tour. However, NEVER rely on information on their website for your tour.
