Overview

Hop into a Toyota Land Cruiser with your expert guide and head north from Moab to the backcountry entrance of Arches National Park and avoid the crowds.

Our first stop is to see dinosaur footprints. For millions of years this area was teeming with dinosaurs.

We pass Balanced Rock, one of the most iconic features of the Park, standing a staggering 128 feet. Landscape look familiar? Indiana Jones, and Thelma and Louise have scenes shot here.

The 4X4 trail into the backcounty climbs a short but steep rock wall passing sandstone fins, towering pinnacles and tall spires known as the Marching Men. We stop at Tower Arch for an optional hike.

As you travel along the track, hear informative commentary about the geology, wildlife and history of the park.

We make another stop at Eye of the Whale for an optional hike to a seldom visited slick rock playground named Herdina Park.

After exploring the backcountry we exit past the three gossips and Park Avenue before your guide returns you to Moab.

The Good: Blane is an EXCELLENT guide. We really enjoyed his knowledge and history of the Arches and region. Give him a raise. The Disappointment: When I reviewed the tour overview on the internet, I saw several arches in various pictures. So, even though we had a limited time we drove six hours to see the park. To our surprise we saw two arches, the Tower arch and the Eye of the Whale while on the tour. Unfortunately, we had other commitments and couldn't stay another day to see what we came to see, namely ARCHES. Sincerely, David Clayton

Gorgeous views, getting to see the more remote sights that you can only get to by 4x4,(eye of the whale, hike to double arches, dinosaur tracks and more,) the ride itself was fun. The guides were pleasant, informative, experienced drivers, and helpful. Highly recommend!

Amazing trip. Urry was fantastic. So nice not to have to drive. Took us to places no one gets to see… 1% of folks. Dinosaur tracks. Just amazing.

Our experience with Navtec Expeditions was 10/10!!!! Our adventurous family has traveled a lot and been on many tours and this was our favorite one! Our tour guide Bus was second to none. His knowledge of the area is truly unparalleled. He is an ecologist and knows SO much about every rock formation, the soil, history, etc. We really enjoyed chatting with him and learning from him. He was also so incredible with our 8 and 10 year old boys. He made sure to take us places where they could not only learn, but have fun! He took them under his wing and showed them the BEST time. He is so great with kids which is a huge plus! On this trip we skiied in Deer Valley for 6 days and then spent 3 days in Moab and both my kids agreed that this tour was their favorite part of our entire trip! Arches is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. We saw so much in our 5 hours with Bus. We felt like we really got a lot of bang for our buck. The views are absolutely breathtaking. We will never forget this tour. If you’re visiting Moab this is an absolute must!!!!
