Overview

Savor the beauty and romance of the New Orleans skyline aboard the Dinner Jazz Cruise. Enjoy the Dukes of Dixieland jazz band and a narration provided by our captain while cruising the Mighty Mississippi River.

There are two seating times for dinner, so please make sure to check availability of both if one is not available. The 1st dinner seating is from 6-7:15pm and the 2nd is from 7:45-9pm. Groups must be booked as one reservation in order to be seated together for dinner.

The Steamboat NATCHEZ is taking some time off, but her sister vessel, the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will be taking her place. You’ll get the same authentic riverboat experience of a leisurely, two-hour cruise on the mighty Mississippi, enjoying traditional live jazz, craft cocktails, and all the beautiful New Orleans sites, while also exploring the newly renovated riverboat. Make sure you check out all four decks - the top deck view is a sight to see! Upgrade your ticket to include the dinner buffet.

Not just a boat, the Steamboat NATCHEZ is a time machine that fills its passengers with the romance and marvel of yesteryear! Cruise along the Mississippi River and let the Steamboat NATCHEZ whisk you away with its atmosphere and ambiance, with everything from a museum- quality Engine Room to the ship's orders being called over an old-time megaphone. This evening jazz cruise is a great way to experience New Orleans' beauty and culture.

As you steam ahead, soak in breathtaking views of the city skyline while enjoying a New Orleans cultural experience – a live jazz performance performed by the New Orleans band Dukes of Dixieland, a Grammy nominee.

Enjoy dining inside or outside on a delectable Louisiana-style buffet dinner including prime rib, chicken, pasta and salad. Two separate dining times give you the flexibility to enjoy the evening at your own pace.

A sample dinner menu can be found in the Itinerary section below.

pretty good overall experience, don't feel like you get anywhere close to the value of a dinner ticket when you pay full price for tickets, most people received discounts we did not. The food was good but not worth 60 dollars each. The ride was gorgeous, the band was great, we loved it. Would do it again but eat dinner first.

The boat cruise was ok. The jazz band did not play long enough. A lot of the passengers was saying the same thing. The city view at night was great sight to see.

I wanted to get out of the gritty city and experience the river. I really appreciated the allergy information provided for the meal. Self-serve buffet was good and plentiful. Service was polite, although the bar was slow. The whole operation was well run from embarkation to debarkation. There was some information given on deck as an introduction to the tour. It was a little hard to hear. The evening tour steams down the river and back to New Orleans over three hours. Best of all was the cool breeze with live jazz after dinner. The evening I went it was an excellent group of young musicians playing several different genre of jazz with brass, percussion and keyboard.

This was beautiful. It was the first thing I did when I got to NOLA, off the plane and jumped on the boat. Dinner was delicious (buffet style) and the boat had plenty to do once I was full from music to bars to engine room exploration. Just a tip if you want to eat WHILE in motion, book the later dinner service, sat and ate while still docked but I kinda liked being able to wander during the trip anyway.

Buffet had good choices, wait staff friendly. Bar drink specials were excellent! We would recommend this for anyone looking for a good meal and want to experience a steamboat ride.
