Overview

On this tour, you'll leave the beach at and return back to Trinity. Travel through spectacular seascapes and sea caves. Whales, icebergs and wildlife all available in season.

Meet at the Trinity Eco-tours Lodge which is the jump off point for your tour. Your guide will explain the route that will be taken on your tour and the predetermined path to get back. The route is based upon wildlife viewing opportunities, sea state, kayaker experience and comfort levels. At this point, you'll pick up your gear and kayaks and head to the beach where our kayaks are located.

Each paddle offers unique opportunities and attractions. Most tours have the opportunity to see bald eagles and occupied eagles nests. Paddle past islands and beaches of rolling Capelin in season. These small fish are the basis for the life cycle of almost every migratory whale species that frequent this area. They can be seen on your tour as well as the whales that gorge themselves on them.

Humpbacks are viewable in season as well as the Skirwink Trail, a favorite hike designated as one of the top ten trails in Canada. You'll view several rock structures from the water. Later, you can hike the trail and view them from the top. Your tour ends passing the lighthouse at Trinity at Fort Point past the cannons still pointing to sea to keep away marauders.

Finally, return to the beach  where you haul up and continue back to the lodge for a debrief and a discussion of your trip and picture exchange. Your guides will gladly answer all your questions and may also use posters in the Marine Interpretation Centre to explain any feature or creature that you saw on your trip.

Your paddle is approximately 3 hours. Dress for the weather conditions. Follow your guide's recommendations.

The tour was excellent. However, I had problems with my tour bookings. It was booked through Tripadvisor and Viatour. I was trying pay with a different credit card and these companies accidentally cancelled all my tours two weeks prior to departure and were unable to rectify the situation. I ended up re-booking my tours directly with tour operators in Newfoundland.

What an incredible, incredible experience. Did I mention incredible? One of my favourite life experiences by far. The crew at Trinity Eco-Tours is absolutely fantastic, there is never a dull second. I want to write a special shoutout to my guide - Daryl. Daryl was incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable. We learned such a great deal throughout our tour because of Daryl. And best of all, because of his quick whale spotting skills we got to experience two whales come right by our kayak. Thank you Daryl and Eco-Tours!

Beautiful family paddle around Trinity harbour. We are rookie paddlers, and it was a windy evening, but our guide ( Darryl 👍) was excellent - we felt safe and successful for the whole sunset tour. We saw marine wildlife and amazing rock features around the inlet. Darryl was able to share stories and interesting informations about the area and what to look for. Thank-you to Darryl and Trinity Eco Tours for a kayak experience to remember.

The paddle in the bay in the afternoon was one of our best kayaking experiences of the trip. The weather was perfect, the guide Mitch was fun and the scenery fantastic.

We did the 1:00 PM kayak harbour tour. It was a beautiful, calm, warm day. The scenery was amazing, with many cliffs, rock pinnacles, beaches, wildlife, etc... Our guide, Mitchel, was accommodating, professional, knowledgeable, and fun.
