Overview

Explore the famous Three Sisters rock formation by sea kayak! Spectacular Cape Chignecto Wilderness Park has been rated the number one kayaking destination in Nova Scotia by guidebooks and magazines alike. Don't miss the opportunity to paddle this incredibly scenic and wild coastline with an experienced, informative and fun guide. Launching from the red sands at Spicer's Cove, the cliffs become increasingly dramatic as you paddle further along the park's shoreline, and you might spot seals and eagles along the way. The highlights of this tour include the famous Three Sisters sea stacks, a natural amphitheatre that nicely amplifies your voice, lava tubes and other evidence of the separation of the continents, a small sea cave, steep red cliffs and holes-in-the-rock.

Itinerary

The Three Sisters Day Tour shows off all the highlights of Cape Chignecto in one stunning paddle. The paddling time each way is 1.5 hrs, with a splendid picnic in between. At the office in Advocate Harbour, our friendly staff will outfit you and make sure you have everything you need for your kayak adventure. Then, you drive around 30 minutes in your own vehicle to the launch area at a wild beach, where your certified, personable guides welcome you. After instructions on the beach, we paddle along magnificent, colourful cliffs at leisure, while your guides take pictures and entertain with interesting facts about the spectacular geology that is at our fingertips, and the people whose legends still reflect in the place names around here, the Mi'kmaq. Highlights of this tour include paddling through an arch and the Three Sisters rock spires. (On the high tide paddles only. On low tide paddles, you will be able to walk the ocean floor.) After about 1.5 hrs, we will pull into a beautiful cove to have a home-made picnic that guests regularly rave about. After some relaxing and exploring, we head back on the ebbing tide and will be in awe about how much the scenery is changing.

I loved this tour-it's been a Bucker List thing for quite a while. Emmet was a great guide and the lunch was lovely. I scanned though some of the other comments and may I just say-I've lived in Nova scotia all my life and paddling in Florida is NOT the same as paddling the Bay of Fundy. Great time <3

A sweet wee trip around Cape Chignecto enhanced by Curtis our guide. He was knowledgeable and really helpful with finding out odd facts such as if the beach pea was native or not. And I so enjoyed having the healthy meals presented beautifully each day, on a gingham mat! The scenary was worth absorbing at the liesurely paddle pace, & some fun weaving amongst the rocks. Kayaks stable and operated well. Even some wildlife encounters. A non threatening kayak trip much enjoyed away from the hustle of the traveller routine.

We paddled as a family with young adults and teens and had a great day! The weather and seas were gorgeous and we had leisurely paddle with just the right amount of commentary from our guide Janna. The cliffs and rock formations are so unique and fun to see and learn at the same time. Lunch was tasty and just a really great day. Definitely high tide is the time to go if you can and then you get really close to the rock formations. Some in our party were fairly new to paddling and did really well.

We had a great trip and appreciated that Hayley gave us a text a few days before our scheduled tour with the option to rebook due to the weather. We were able to go a day earlier and the conditions were perfect! Directions to launch point were very detailed and helpful and the guide Damien was great. Lunch at the beach was delicious as was the quick swim before getting back in our boats :) The only thing we’d like to see is a slightly longer paddle. The distance was rather short and slow. That being said the surroundings were beautiful and we learned a lot about the area. Hope to return for an overnight trip!
