Overview

Explore Mt. St. Helens on a day tour tailored to you. Our local, TripAdvisor 'Hall of Fame' guides have been 'Certified Excellent' every year since 2010! Please note that the itinerary outlined is a SAMPLE of potential destinations that could be included in the tour.

Walk along the blast-swept Eruption Trail with panoramic views of the devastation and the mountain’s crater. You may even glimpse a herd of Roosevelt elk!

No two tours with Evergreen Escapes are the same! Our guides craft itineraries that reflect the best of what the Park has to offer that day. We’ll offer stops at some of our favorite spots like Coldwater Lake or the Hummocks Trail. This isn’t just another driving tour of a beautiful landscape - we prefer to keep guests outside the vehicle for walks to experience firsthand.

Our all-inclusive small-group day tour is limited to just 10 travelers. We'll bring a local, organic, family-style lunch and eat outside when it's nice! Don’t worry about a thing!

The whole day was excellent. The catering was seamless and different from - much better than what I expected from a packed lunch. We never felt rushed and we were given opportunities to tailor the tour to our needs, staying longer in one place and shorter elsewhere. Other tour companies may have cancelled a tour that only included 3 paid guests but we were given the best treatment. Definitely recommend them. Nate was the best guide!

Colin our tour guide for the day was a most enthusiastic and passionate guide , Particularly about the environment and ecology of the area . Whilst it was a long day it was well planned to provide numerous stops with amazing views . And at most stops all park rangers were eager and keen to share their knowledge. We were well fed and watered with plenty of snacks and a delicious lunch - which was even served with tablecloth and napkins!! All in all an amazing day with loads of memories and good value for money. Thank you Evergreen Escapes and an even bigger thank you to our guide Colin for his patience and kindness .

We had an absolutely fantastic day. Our guide Tess was well prepared, knowledgeable, personable and professional in every way. She was excited and passionate about what she was doing and it showed in her organization of the trip and also in her knowledge of everything surrounding Mt. St. Helen. Everything, from the homemade meals to learning about the eruption and how quickly nature started getting things back to normal was centered around making this a great experience for us. I recommend this trip very highly, especially if Tess is your guide!

What a great day! Mt. St. Helen might be the star of the show but our guide Tess was definitely the producer and director. She was personable, professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and well organized which made this trip an absolute delight. Her homemade breakfast and lunch made it seem like we were on an outing with an old friend. Starting with a hike to learn about old growth forests, seeing the devastation caused by the eruption, and being able to see how nature has adapted afterward, the trip has a natural sequence to it. Ending with a stop at Mt. St. Helens and Bigfoot Interpretive Center, and hearing Joe’s detailed explanations about the eruption and it’s effects was a perfect way to wrap up a great tour. I highly recommend both this trip and Tess!
