Overview

This is a 90-minute, unscripted walking tour that will take guests deep into St. Augustine’s darker history. Professionally licensed guides share stories passed from one generation to the next about the oldest city’s strange and difficult past. Tours are multi-generational, family friendly and pet friendly. Although guests with mobility limitations will also enjoy the tour, there are some steeets that may present a problem for certain wheelchairs/motorized wheelchairs.

Tours include some history and a lot of mystery. Guides will also provide instructions on how to use ghost hunting tools (which can be rented for $5). Guests are allowed and encouraged to bring along their own ghost hunting tools as well.

Stop At: Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, 1 S Castillo Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32084-3252

Join us on the oldest continuously operated walking ghost tour in town. Walk the dark narrow streets of St. Augustine and hear tales of those who came before us and refuse to leave. You will visit The Castillo de San Marcos, The City Gate, The Tolomato and Hugenot Cemeteries, as well as some of our favorite hotspots.

Last evening, my husband and I went on a Ghost Encounter with Hippie through St Augustine Ghostly Encounters. We have done several tours over the years but this was by far one of the best. Hippie just doesn’t tell you stories, he teaches you about ghosts and why they are still here. He has a deep compassion, empathy and respect for those who have gone before us but have never left us. Don’t miss out on a great time of learning about St. Augustine’s history and the spirits that are still here. You will not regret it

The gentleman conducting the tour. "Hippie" his real middle name, is knowledgeable and professional in all matters of haunting and history related to St. Augustine. Should you choose to take a ghost tour Pat and I would highly recommend requesting this gentleman. I checked the history once returning home and found that he was extremely accurate. The cost of the tour was very, very low for the verbal material received. Other ghost tours in the future will have to live up to Hippie's abilities.

Tour was amazing! Our guide (Hippie) was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. He relayed numerous, relevant and interesting stories that tied the whole experience together. My wife and I were very impressed and pleased!

Not only was it creepy/, it was also very informative. If you enjoy odd history you definitely should take this tour. It’s family friendly as long as your child is able to handle the topic of death. Our tour guide was Dion and he added flair and fun to our experience.

It’s campy, it’s fun, it’s full of history, dead stories and a great evening walk. Madame Jennifer was full of energy, witty, and a great story teller. She was especially conscientious of one of the patrons who was in a wheelchair for this walking tour, her patience was awesome. The tour walked us by 2 historic cemeteries, the fort, down a few alleys and the City Gate area. Lots of history mixed with some local lore made for an entertaining evening. Armed with a green laser light, pirate lamp, her quick wit and a historic script, Jennifer gave us a great 90 minute tour.
