This full-day Beijing sightseeing tour to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China provides an opportunity to experience steeper sections of the wall.The Mutianyu section is older than popular Badaling section and features outer and inner parapets, three watch towers and even an optional cable car ride! To complete your sightseeing you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a jade factory and tea tasting.

Stop At: Mutianyu Great Wall, Mutianyu Village, Bohai Town, Huairou District, Beijing China

Mutianyu Great Wall is much steeper than Badaling Great Wall, and a more challenging climb. This section is older than Badaling, and features outer and inner parapets. There are 22 watch-towers in the 2250-meter-long Mutianyu Great Wall, and the highest one is 540 meters above sea level. This section of the wall is also surrounded by woodland and streams. The Great Wall takes on different looks in different seasons. In spring, flowers are blooming. In summer, the Great Wall is lush and green. In winter, the Great Wall is covered with white snow. However, the Great Wall’s most charming season is autumn, when fruits ripen and leaves of gorgeously diverse color fall at this photogenic spot.

They say The Great Wall of China is the only manmade thing visible from The International Space Station. Built before there was a United States of America or Canada this wall was built to last. It is truly a Manmade Marvel. It was recently honoured in a Matt Damon film which showcases the wall at it's peak of glory.

Had the most amazing day with guide Michael visiting the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall! Michael got in touch the day before to confirm pick up from my hotel- the next morning I was picked up in a brand-new, pristine vehicle. The nearly 2-hr trip went really quickly as Michael talked to us and told us all about the Great Wall and the Beijing area. Once there we had some time to explore and it was a breathtaking experience. Coming back we went to a restaurant and had a delicious meal. I was dropped off at my hotel and had the most amazing day! Thank you Michael and thank you La Vacanza Travel!

Great Wall was very busy, two hour wait for chairlift up, very very busy up there. Thousands of people. Tour guide was not very helpful. She was grumpy when we refused to purchase Jade products at a stop off on the way. I gave her and the driver a 20% tip, but she wasn't happy about the amount and was quite rude. Worth seeing the wall, but our experience of the organised tour was not good.
