This was quite the depressing show. My partner and i arrived in chaing mai and didnt have any real plans. So we went to a tour guide place to find some stuff to do. We were recommended the zoo's night safari. It included the night safari show, the tiger show and the night predator show. All part of the same thing. First show started fun to watch, animals would enter the area eat food and disappear. Right up until the anorexic lion turned up. That was rather sad to watch. Figured probally cos of covid they had lacked the funds to feed him. But im doubting that now. A little after your rushed out to go find the tiger show. Thought ok, well check it out. Got there sat down. Theres a rather neat looking enclosure for the tigers to come in. Its got water, ropes, skiny walkways for the tigers. It looks like fun. So were sitting there and these two tiger handlers come out with these white tigers. Very pretty, right up until the fat tiger handler started wipping the tiger in the face with the metal chicken skewer... the reason for it was he wanted it to enter a door way. Though it was definetley unnecessary. I undsrstand these animals may need some harsh treatment to stay safe, but there's definetley a line that was crossed as it seemed like just plain animal abuse to me. On the way out my partner burst into tears. I had to take her aside and console her for a little bit and help put her mind at ease. Next was the actual night safari part of the tour. That was just like a normal zoo but experienced through a long open car, maybe a bus is a better word to describe it. That seemed quite fine. It cruised around, the driver and his partner made jokes and spoke about the animals. Allthough some of there info was off XD but there are a lot of animals in the world, and english isnt there native tounge so that's easily understandable. There is also another section of zoo but we arrived late so didnt really get to see it. Anyways my honest opinion, find a diffrent zoo, or just do something else. You'll leave here feeling like crap.

The night safari was good. I would say it was aimed at young families. They feed the animals when the bus is due to go out so that they are eating rather than coming towards you. I would’ve preferred more interaction with the animals to be honest as it shows on the advertisement. The tiger show was good and I was amazed how trained the tigers and the lions were. Overall definitely worth the money. Just to note, they don’t collect from the hotel so you have to make your own way there.
