The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex, constructed in AD 889 on the remains of Roman fortifications, and then largely ignored until its ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid-13th century by the Nasrid emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built its current palace and walls.

Stop At: Generalife Realejo-San Matias, 18009 Granada Spain

It is a villa that dates from the beginning of the 14th century and was used as a summer Palace by the Nasrid rulers of the Emirate of Granada in Al-Andalus

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Palace of Carlos V, Alhambra, 18009 Granada Spain

The Palace of Carlos V is the former residence of the emperor, in Renaissance style, with a large interior patio.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Nasrid Palaces, Calle Real De La Alhambra, 18009 Granada Spain

Palace complex, residence of the kings of Granada. These palaces enclose within their walls the refinement and delicacy of the last Hispano-Arab governors of Al Andalus, the Nasrids. Access included if you choose the option

Three palaces make up this enclosure: El Mexuar, El Palacio de Comares, or Yusuf I and the Palace of the Lions, or Mohammed V. Water, an element that shapes the palace, combining the garden with the architecture, represents purity ; crystal clear water that runs between the marbles of the fountains; water of life that gives richness and freshness to the garden, aesthetic beauty, generosity of the sultan ... a whole world of symbols and stimuli. If you choose the option that includes access you will enjoy this wonderful area of the Alhambra and know all the history behind it from the hand of our guide

Duration: 1 hour

Pass By: Adarves Garden, Centro, 18009 Granada, Spain

Sandra, our guide was excellent! She made the history come to life. La Alhambra is an amazing place to see.

The tour company canceled our tour of Alhambra and Nasrid Palace a week before the date, leaving everyone stranded and without tickets (which were impossible to get). I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

We booked the tour of Alhambra with Nasrid Palace eight weeks before our visit on 11th October. Two weeks before the visit, we were informed that the schedule was changed to 11th October and there would be NO Nasrid Palace (important part of our visit). We tried other agents but by then Alhambra was fully booked. Our holiday was completely ruined. Be warned, do not book with this agent. Sadly I only read the reviews after my booking.

Was very disappointed in this tour. I had searched for a long time for a guided tour that included the Nasrid Palaces, and we were able to meet up with the guide easily, which I was worried about having read other reviews here. However despite being advertised as an English tour, it was bilingual and our guide Sandra spent most of the time speaking in Spanish and only translating very little into English. As a Spanish speaker, I know she only translated about 20% of her explanation into English, leaving the rest of my family very bored. This is my second time visiting the Alhambra, and compared to the previous tour I went on, Sandra also did not explain sufficiently about the Nasrid period when the Alhambra was built and gave random facts about its modern history instead. All in all, we were disappointed in this service and would not recommend it to first time travellers.
