It has been known since antiquity, the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’

The tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2) in the Valley of the Kings is rather different than most other tombs built here. This tomb is by far the most spectacular of the other tombs you will see. The hieroglyphics on the wall depict scenes from the Litany of Ra, Book of the Dead, Book of Caverns, the Book of the Heavens, Book of Amduat, and the Book of the Night. The blue and white colors on the walls inside the burial chamber are very vibrant and you can see the king's sarcophagus made of rose-colored granite. There is also a beautiful scene of goddess Nut on the ceiling, where she is depicted swallowing the sun, and it traveling through her stomach, for Nut to give birth to it.

Of coursethere is a material decrease in the number of lateral rooms, and a dramatic increase in the height of the corridors and rooms. He did away with the jogged axis used since the time of Horemheb and instead built the entire tomb on a single axis. Also, for the first time, the entrance was made considerably wider than earlier tombs .

My Nile cruise was everything i wished for a more the ship Crown Jubilee crew were all very friendly and attentive as we were only 7passengers on board they really tried their best to create a welcoming party every day !! Only tip i would have is to make the lunch and dinner portion sizes less or rather do a buffet like at breakfast so that one can choose what and how much one would like to eat! My personal tour guide Ahmed Raheem was very knowledgeable in Egyptology and spoke very good english but most of all he was very caring loved to make jokes but could hold my interest even when my brain was saturated ! he also took great care of my physical needs and set a pace i could manage ! it was very reassuring to have him on board so that we could discuss the nest days tour after dinner and make any changes i would request ! Thankyou Ahmed for making my adventure in Egypt a very memorable experience indeed It would be amiss not to then also highly recommend the driver Khaled Hassan who picked me up at Hurghada resort at 6 am and who even turned back 10 min later to pickup my luggage which the porter at the resort had not taken out to his vehicle ?? he too is well versed in all matters Egypt and has good command of English and with all my questions and chatting the trip of 4 hours to Luxor flew by safely without any further hiccups ! He was also the driver for my return form Luxor station to Hurghada airport and as he was the driver for my temple visits in Luxor i felt very comfortable and relaxed all the way as he had become a reliable friend Thanks Khaled you are a star driver ! thankyou too to Ragab from Luxor travels for placing me in the safe hands of these two very amicable guys !
