Overview

The Sunwapta River is the only Class III white water offered in Jasper National Park. The river is glacial fed and is great for first time rafters if you are looking to paddle hard, get soaked, and have a lot of fun! The river trip itself begins with a float where crews can practice their paddling technique before the show begins. Once the rapids start ,they just build and build until The Whopper soaks everyone just before the take out. All trips are in 6 person-guided rafts and all the necessary equipment is provided.

You will join a certified interpretive and river guide and paddle through Jasper National Park's largest white water.You will takeout a few hundred meters above the famous Sunwapta Falls.

  • A waiver will need to be signed prior to your rafting trip
  • Late and No Show Policy - Please double check the date, time and pick up location on your confirmation. Our primary pick up location is the RV Parking Lot and scheduled departure times are based on this location. Out of respect for other guests, we ask that all participants arrive 15 minutes prior to departure time. If you have chosen a pick up location other than the RV Parking Lot, please note the pick up time for your location. There will be no refund provided if you arrive after departure time or do not show for the date and time of your scheduled trip.
  • Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately, we go rain or shine
  • Wear your bathing suit under your clothes

We had an amazing time with our FANTASTIC guide, Nate. His energy levels were 100 from the get go. He kept us (mentally) warm and was extremely helpful with suggestions on where to go to eat in Jasper. The rapids were brilliant. Watch out for the Whopper and also Nate’s tactful turning of the raft…..! Thanks again Nate. 10/10 would recommend. Love, your favourite Scots (Mairi and John)

This was a dream come true! As a leg amputee I wasn’t sure they would let me do the class 3. But they did. Jordan, our guide was so genuine and able! He made it memorable and went out of his way to honor my thrill seeker brain! Luke, the bus driver, photographer, gopher and all around superb human also made the trip fun, memorable and he looked after all the details for all of us. These guys have my full respect and recommendation.

What an incredible afternoon!! We did the Sunwapta with Nate as our guide. He did an amazing job guiding us, explaining our surroundings and hitting the big waves! It was the perfect balance of thrills and beautiful scenery. Our driver Connor and the other guides Cash, Kim and Jordan were great as well. Can’t wait to do it again next summer! Thanks team!

We went on the Sunwapta white water rafting with our guide Annaja and had a great time. We have been white water rafting before in bigger craft but the size of the craft (just 5 crew plus Annaja) made the experience much more intense. Not scary intense, exhilarating intense. Annaja was was a professional captain giving clear instructions while also being a great host. The whole operation seemed well run and efficient. I would highly recommend this excursion, it's well worth the money.

Brilliant trip and super reasonable price! The trip had both fabulous scenery and worthy rapids with a professional but hilarious crew of guides (shout out to ours, Jordan)! Well worth it. Highly recommend.
