Amazing experience with a guide who helped us navigate the terrain and gave us a history of the glacier. A super unique experience to trek on and to participate in a bit of ice climbing! Wish we were able to travel further up the glacier than the bus tours, given that we paid quite a bit to have a guide navigate, with the expectation of reaching less populated areas of the glacier.
Fabulous experience to walk the glacier and see the wonderful crevasses. Insight to glacier behaviour and the history provided by two experienced guides as they lead us through the walk. The glacier is extremely windy so I would recommend layers and a buff for your face. The guides do have hats/gloves/some outer coats if required. Jack and Shep did a great job.
Great trip and great guides. I especially liked the incorporation of scientific research of the environment as part of the experience.
The whole experience was memorable. Our tour guide was amazing and love that she was also collecting valuable data to track the movement of the glacier. We felt privileged to have experienced something so special and unique especially coming from Australia where we don’t have this landscape accessible to us.
