Overview

Contrary to the name "Secret Falls" Uluwehi Falls has become the most popular waterfall destinations on Kauai. The paddle and hike will take some physical effort but we make everything else easy. We will provide the best hassle-free service on the river, No having to car top a bulky rental kayak and hunt for parking at the State Park. All you have to do is show up at our exclusive location and it's fun time! Our guides will setup all your equipment and will stay with you every step of the way. Adventure seekers should be comfortable in the water and should expect a 4-mile round trip paddle and a moderate 2-mile hike to the waterfall.

Itinerary

Your guided Kayak Adventure starts with a 2 mile paddle upstream through the scenic valley of the Wailua River. After securing your kayaks on the shores of the North Fork, your moderate 1.5 mile hike begins. Wade through multiple streams, a lush rainforest and traverse over muddy trails all the while learning about local flora and fauna from one of our friendly and knowledgeable guides. Your hiking trek concludes with the beautiful 120′ Uluwehi Falls, a.k.a. Secret Falls. A definite rock solid adventure!

What a fun adventure! It's the best of both worlds with some time on the river and then a hike through the rainforest, with a beautiful waterfall destination. Wailua River is very mellow and would be easy for even a beginning kayaker. Your kayak will be a double, so be prepared to row with your partner. That was the trickiest part and my husband's least favorite part. The hike can get muddy and slippery. If you go slow, watch your footing, and step toe-to-heel, you should be fine. A good portion of the hike has flat boardwalks to walk on. There are river crossings so I recommend wearing water shoes. You'll get to cross through one of the four Queens Baths, too! Kai, our driver, was welcoming and kind. Kaimana, our tour guide, was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and informative. I loved all the history he was able to give us about the island and it's culture. He offered to cut bamboo walking sticks for anyone who needed them and took pictures of each of us at the Queen's bath crossing. He even provided us with a list of all his favorite restaurants after the tour. Really appreciated the friendly crew and would do this again!

Fun with family kids and grand kids. Paddling and short hike were exceptional with knowledgable guide. Due to weather we were unable to go to the falls but still worth the reduced rate.

The staff and guide were outstanding. We were unfamiliar with the kayaking methods, but our guide helped to put us on the right track and made the experience memorable.

Awesome experience. But, you have to wear water shoes that you can hike in. Trail is wet and muddy. We went in April. You are walking through muddy, slippery rocks and crossing 3 streams. One went almost to our waist. Very difficult terrain. Do not go if you have any physical impairments as you won’t make it. If you are physically fit and love the outdoors then you will enjoy it. If you don’t, you will not find this experience enjoyable. Keep in mind that after 2 hours if this hike you have to kayak back for another mike and a half. Our guide Nui is as awesome!

Our guide was the best. Lots of history and fact during the tour. KAYAKING was not harmed and the hiking was a little tricky but fine if you don’t have mobility issues.
