The tour is led by a sensitive, licensed and local guide which helps to understand the touching history and cruel things that happened there.

-Live-guided tour of Auschwitz & Birkenau (visit both camps)
-Travel from Krakow choosing hotel pickup or meeting point
-Learn the history of World War II, Nazi Holocaust and the liberation
-Avoid crowds skipping the long line for individual visitors

The group according to the Museum’s rule counts up to 30 people making the visit comfortable and accessible for every participant. Visit the original wooden buildings, fortified walls, barbed wires, gas chambers and crematoria - all of those leave a shocking impression allowing to imagine the scale of Holocaust.

The same guide continues a poignant lecture about the camp in the village Brzezinka (Birkenau) which was constructed in 1941 on the order of Heinrich Himmler (SS commander) and could hold some 90 000 prisoners. You will be told about terrible stories of unimaginable living conditions as well as cruel selection and pseudo-scientific medical experiments made by prominent Nazi doctors including Josef Mengele. This was an amazing but emotional experience. Our guide was excellent, he took time to tell us about the various parts we were taken to. You knew by the way he spoke that it meant something to him and not just a script. Would highly recommend this tour.

My experience on the Auschwitz tour from Krakow was incredibly moving and eye-opening. The tour provided a comprehensive overview of the history and horrors of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, with knowledgeable guides who were able to provide context and answer any questions we had.

It was a very difficult place to visit emotionally, but a place that everyone should visit once in their life. The two camps are remarkably quiet with few signs of wildlife as if nature can sense the horrors that took place. A lot of walking but being a little uncomfortable added to the experience. The tour guide covered the history of the camps very sensitively with much compassion. The personal headsets allowed you to travel at your own pace without having to huddle close to the guide.

It was a poignant experience, the suffering must have been unbearable. The loss of life was immense and when you see the amount of plaited hair that was shaved from the victims, it makes you blood run cold. The tour was very good and told the history well. Just be aware that the museum set the tour timings and they can be changed at short notice, especially if your tour falls at this time of year, as their are a lot of schools visiting the area.

Our trip was cancelled late afternoon the day before. We were very disappointed as the visit to Auschwitz was the main reason for our trip. We were offered a 05.30 am pick up to queue for tickets but with no guarantee of entry. La Vacanza Travel were prompt in providing a refund.
