Michael, our driver and guide for Auschwitz-Birkenau was very friendly and helpful. The group was much larger than I expected. They actually combined multiple van loads of visitors for the tours. The description said we would be provided with headsets, however, the only place we had headsets was for the tour of Auschwitz. It would have been very helpful to have headsets with the large group at the salt mine. Our tour guide at the salt mine said he was new and it was very apparent. At the end of the tour, rather than wait in line for the elevator that would take us up to the drop off point near the bus, our guide took us on a lengthy walk to another elevator. When we emerged from the elevator, we were far away from the main building where we started. Rather than showing our group back to the main building, near the meeting point, he told us to use google maps on our phones to find the building. I felt that this was poor customer service for what we paid.

Both tours were brilliant very educational, the views at the salt mines were something else. Patryk our transfer driver was very friendly. Would recommend to others considering both tours to split them in to separate days as pick up was 05.45 and we arrived back at the hotel around 18.00 this day involves a lot of walking.

This tour was amazingly put together and organised! We were collected at exactly the time we had been told via email the night before, by our lovely driver YARO. He then took us to our first half of the tour at Auschwitz and Birkenau. Here he gave us all the information we would need and passed us over to the museum tour guide. He waited exactly where he said he would be to collect us and take us to the next part of our tour, the salt mines! Here again he led us to the guide that would be taking us around and showed us where he would be waiting when we finished. He then dropped us off at our desired locations back in the city. It’s a long day, around 9/ 10 hours but well worth it. We took sandwiches and drinks as there isn’t many places to grab food so try and take a packed lunch if you can. All in all one of the best organised and smoothest day tours we have been on. They handled everything from pre booking our tickets and handing them out to making sure we had chance to grab some food and drinks. And have toilet breaks. I would absolutely recommend this day tour. Fabulous tour guides at each location and the salt mines really lift the day after an emotional start at the concentration camp. But I particularly recommend gettingTHIS company to organise it!! Thankyou Krakow Direct
