Overview

This is an 8 kilometer E-biking ride that visits famous attractions as well as hidden gems in Kyoto such as the Kinkakuji, Daitokuji Temple Complex in order to visit the Koto-in and Zuiho-in, Imamiyajinja and the Kitanotenmangu Temple.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

We will park our bikes and walk through one of the most photographed temples in Japan, The Golden Pavilion. This is a must-see UNESCO attraction. We will view Kyoto's iconic golden temple that sits on a picturesque pond and mountain backdrop, and chat a bit about Zen garden design.

A HIGHLIGHT OF MY ENTIRE TRIP. Henry made this one of my favorite experiences from my whole 2-week trip in Japan. This is exactly what I was looking for in an off the beaten path experience. Everything we did was less traveled, less congested, and felt much more authentic and immersed. It was important to me to learn about the history of Japan as well, and Henry well exceeded expectations. He is incredibly knowledgeable, proven by answering every single one of our questions. Bamboo forest, authentic matcha tea ceremony, quiet temples and shrines - This is a MUST DO. Beyond the worth of what is being charged $.

I think it should have been cancelled due to rain. Other than THAT, Mike was a pleasure and very knowledgable. He kept us all safe at all times. His story telling abilities are outstanding as well as his ability to gel the group quickly. Mike assisted us in taking photos at the Golden Palace and many other locations upon request. His easy manner invited even the most obscure inquiries. He didn't just spew information. He was engaging. I would recommend this tour, especially if you get Mike. He's a good egg.

My teenagers said this bike tour was ‘very cool’. Fantastic time pedalling through the back streets of Kyoto. Henry our guide was excellent. Bi-lingual & very knowledgeable about a Japanese history. I felt like I learned more from Henry, than if I had taken a self guided tour. Loved that one stop included visiting one of the oldest tea houses in Kyoto. Tea with traditionally prepared mochi was the highlight. Highly recommend this tour.
