There you visit four royal tombs, including the Tomb of Ramses, the Tomb of Horemheb, the Tomb of Merenptah and of course the Tomb of King Tut. The tomb of Tutankhamun is the only tomb in Valley of the Kings that was discovered nearly intact in 1922. The discoverer of his tomb was Howard Carter. Tut's famous golden mask is on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, but here you have the opportunity to be amazed at the royal mummy of the young king.

It has been known since antiquity, the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’

Of coursethere is a material decrease in the number of lateral rooms, and a dramatic increase in the height of the corridors and rooms. He did away with the jogged axis used since the time of Horemheb and instead built the entire tomb on a single axis. Also, for the first time, the entrance was made considerably wider than earlier tombs .

This was my second time coming to Luxor and doing this tour. The first time was in January 2020 with a group of friends and Khalid was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. This second time I came back to Luxor as a surprise trip for my boyfriend. Again we had Khalid as our tour guide and I was happy we did because my boyfriend has researched Egyptian history before and we would need someone who could provide him with more. Khalid delivered! 10 minutes into the tour my boyfriend turned to me saying how much he likes Khalid and how smart he is. Both times coming to Luxor have been great thanks to Khalid!

So much to see! With low tourism at the moment (pandemic) I was the only person on the tour. That just made it that much more special. I got so many pictures and the tour guide took many of me. Which is very difficult when traveling solo. We went to a great restaurant with very good chicken shawarma. The guide was so knowledgeable and his English was fantastic. He even helped me push off the vendors getting in and out of places. Get a full night sleep ahead of time! Lots of steps and walking. And with temperatures up to 115 F in the Summer, try to visit closer to winter. I will note that the vehicle had the best AC in all of Egypt and they gave me lots of water. Times are tough during the pandemic, so I highly recommend this tour.

We had a Super day with Ahmed Aziz our guide. Ahmed was interesting, fun, passionate about Egypt’s history and very knowledgeable. The car was really comfortable and driver safe. Both were very professional and our lunch was the nicest food I have had since I arrived in Egypt a week ago. I also appreciated Ahmed’s mastery of the English language as it allowed for great conversations. We went to Clossio Memnon, Valley of the Kings and saw Ramses 111, Ramses 1X, Ramses 1V tombs. Then onto Hatshpsut Temple followed by Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. it was almost too much... fascinating, overwhelming and beautiful. Another big plus...The shopping at stalls was fun and Ahmed was so patient! I would Also advise people to come at this time of year as the weather is cool and gorgeous.

My guide Khalid Eltayeb and my driver Hassan were the best I had in 10 days worth of tours in Egypt! Accurate historical information, friendly, on time, clean vehicle, and no extra selling. They had so much water on hand for me as well. If you go to Luxor ask for them. We covered so much stuff in one day, and I wasn’t even tired after all of it. The company was also very nice in dropping me off at the airport for my flight after the tour for a small fee. The wonderful part was the fee was less than what a taxi would cost. Luxor Travels is #1 in Egypt!!!

This tour was better than expected. Khalid was amazing, super knowledgeable and very kind with us. He made sure we had enough water since it was 102 degrees. The lunch was great, very delicious. The driver would always be there waiting for us. We enjoyed this tour very much. Luxor have wonders you must see and our guide made sure we saw the best tombs and the best of the temples. If your planning to go to Cairo in Egypt you must go to Luxor.
