Overview

half-day walking tour excursion through bustling Marrakech begins after meeting your guide in front of the Café de France, an iconic landmark on Marrakech’s main square. Over the course of the day, you’ll discover the majesty and vibrancy of Marrakech’s medina, beginning with a jaunt across the Jemaa el-Fnaa square to the Koutobia Mosque. Gaze at the mosque’s massive minaret, the largest in Marrakech, as your expert guide informs you of the stunning building’s history.

Onwards, you’ll head towards the Saadian Tombs, sealed for centuries until their rediscovery in 1917. Marvel at the ornate carvings in a Hispano-Moorish style that frame the crypts of the 16-century royal family. Afterwards, head to the equally ornate Bahia Palace, a 19th-century royal dwelling intended to be the most splendid palace of its time. Gaze at the elaborately-painted ceilings, beautifully-manicured gardens replete with fruit trees, and elaborate stucco patterns adorning almost every surface of the building.

Good tour, our guide was friendly and informative, took us to what we wanted to see. He tried a little too hard to push particular small vendors (calligraphy, engravings, etc). But generally good, and it was a well paced tour, good introduction to the city.

We had a great tour yesterday with Mo! We learned so much from him and he was extremely informative. He is incredibly knowledgeable in the culture and history of Marrakech. We have done several tours on our trip and our tour with him was our favorite. 100% recommend, especially with Mo!

We arrived with a sick child in tow (food) and Ali, our guide, completely (and on a whim) customized our experience to our son’s needs and our family’s interests. He was an expert in navigating the souk’s, bought us water, helped us navigate some purchases we wanted to make, and showed us landmarks (not on the itinerary) which we really appreciated. Ali took photos and sent them to us and was an absolute pleasure to follow. Would recommend the private tour indeed! Thanks Ali!
