Salzburg is definitely worth the time to go visit and the tour was perfect. I thought 3 hours of on your own time might be too long but it was perfect. Jeremy was an excellent guide!

While our guide German Mark was very friendly and knowledgeable unfortunately the weather was terrible and the company should have cancelled the trip. It was freezing, pouring rain and started to hail and we were so cold we had to bail out of the guided tour part just to get warm. Taking the train back and forth from Munich was easy but it didn’t leave until after 10am (8:30am meet up) and leaving to come back at 4:30pm gave very little time in Salzburg to see anything on your own especially if you wanted to go up to the castle. Leaving earlier in the morning or later in the evening would have been much better. Salzburg is interesting and pretty and maybe needs a few days. This day trip is not enough time. Take the train on your own and spend a few days there instead

We started our day trip from Munich Hbf, took a train to Salzburg Hbf with about a 2-hour ride. Our guide, Elizabeth, was very engaging, thoughtful, shared the background and history of Munich and Salzburg and assisted well in going around different landmarks in the city. She highlighted mostly on the topics of Mozart and the Sound of Music. The various landmarks were all lovely with a mixture of the old and new landmarks in the city, including the alpine and castle background and suggested some of the popular restaurants, dishes and desserts. There were too much things to take in and would love to come back and experience more of Salzburg. Highly recommended!

Salzburg is hands down one of the most memorable experiences on my trip. Our tour guide Susan did a wonderful job and helped navigate the trip making the day easy and accessible for a first time visitor. Well worth it
