There is a lot to see, so take as much time as needed. We did not do the audio - we just walked through it on our own. Would highly recommend for anyone coming to try and go early as it does get busy later.

Quite simply just go and see the 9/1 1 memorial and the museum if you are in the city. Incredibly emotional and beautiful, the memorabilia they have in the museum is just amazing (from parts of the original building to voicemail’s from the passengers on the plane to stamps purchased from a victim just a few mins before the attack) of course it’s emotional and it does bring you back to the awful reality of what happened that day in 2001. The boat lift rescue story was incredible and something I wasn’t aware of and didn’t remember hearing on the news.

Very fine tribute to the fallen civilians and first responders. Give a first hand look at the size and scope of the towers. The memorial wall is well done, and honors those who were lost.

Artifacts from the site History of the hijackers and terrorism threats Sharing this experience with my 27 year old son who was 5 years old at the time. He spent over 4 hours in the museum.

Before going into the museum we walked around the memorial garden which is very moving. The museum provided the history of the world trade centre and the terrorist attack of September 11th 2001. Parts of the museum were very busy. There isn't a set route around the museum so it's worth exploring, we nearly missed an excellent short film about the evacuation of Manhatten by boat. Recommended.
