It was so fun to see the buildings and infrastructure in New York. It was expecially fun to see the view!

Really enjoyed the cruise around Manhattan, very relaxed way of seeing the city after a few days on our feet. Only marked down a star for the poor quality and limited options of catering on board, plus the tour guide was a little overly 'Team America' and dramatic about everything.

My wife and I took the Manhattan cruise at the recommendation of my doctor. We were excited to circumnavigate the island and see how all the boroughs connected. We hadn't even thought about the statue of liberty views we would get. The ship was nice and clean, very spacious, well organized, and well sailed. Our cruise was not filled to capacity, so we had plenty of room to move around the ship and in and out of the covered cabin. When it rains, umbrellas are not allowed, but there is plenty of covered seating area that still offer good views through the glass. The staff were all friendly. Peter, the speaking guide was humorous and informative, even if his pro-manhattan bias showed in his obligatory jokes about the other boroughs and Jersey. The views were amazing and made the 2 and 1/2 hour journey well worth the time. Many of the views would not have been attainable any other way than by sea or air. We got very close to the SoL and sailed all the way around her affording views from every angle. We got good views and pictures of the Empire State Building, Gracie Mansion, and the Woolworth building. We got amazing views and images of the new One World Trade Center, Ellis Island, the SoL, and almost all of the bridges. The biggest complaint I have about the cruise is that the pilot decided to turn around before we passed under the 3 boroughs bridge because of the high water levels. This meant that the second hour of the trip was just a replay in reverse of the first hour. We went back over the same ground in Queens, Manhattan, and Jersey, and did not get to see much of The Bronx or Brooklyn or the northern bridges. I understand that this was a decision made for safety that was out of the control of the crew. But surely they must have known in advance what the water levels looked like. It had been raining regularly for weeks in April. I would have preferred to have been notified that we were not getting the full experience that was advertised on Trip Advisor. Having to turn around and traverse the same ground took away from the whole experience and made much of the time feel boring. I would definitely do the cruise again if I knew we would be able to get all the way around the island. I would even recommend it with caution about the potential change in itinerary. It was enjoyable. It was affordable. And it gave us so many great pictures and memories to take home! I hope the crew will show that they care about setting realistic expectations and begin notifying guests in advance of changes to the itinerary. This would give people a chance to cancel or reschedule, and most importantly, it would avoid the negative impact of a surprise disappointment at the end of the experience.

Not great. They did not go around the island due to high tide. So we doubled back after halfway. To make matters worse, the guide stopped talking on the repeat part, instead of telling us more. So we truly only got half a tour. We passed a zillion things I was curious about. But the guide said very little both ways. And halfway through he took a break! A fun way to see the city, but pick a boat with an audio guide.
