This was a full day tour that included a tour of San Francisco, that included stops at the Palace of Fine Arts, Fort Point (under the Golden Gate Bridge), Muir Woods, Sausalito, and a boat ride to Alcatraz. There’s a lot to like about this tour. The guide was personable and knowledgeable about the city. We saw Chinatown, pacific heights, the presidio, and other areas of the city. It would have been nice to see Haight-Ashbury and Golden Gate Park, but there’s only so much time! The Palace of Fine Arts was fascinating, and Fort Point gave us a different view of the bridge. Unfortunately, the fort itself wasn’t open, being closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The trip to the Muir Woods had us hanging onto our seats as the road to the park is full of hairpin turns. It was especially thrilling for those in the back of the van. There is an $15.00 entry fee at Muir Woods unless you have a National Park pass. The Redwoods are amazing, and well worth the trip. There are three hikes of varying lengths that you can choose. We had about 1.5 hours there, so we chose bridge 3 for the one hour hike. This gave time for the gift shop too. From there we went to Sausalito. We had about an hour for lunch, and headed to Spinnaker, but the walk and the wait were too long, so we went back to Copita’s followed by ice cream down the street. After lunch, which ended at about 1:00, we headed back to SF to wait for the boat to to Alcatraz. The ticket is part of the tour package, but the tour’s involvement ends when they drop you off at the boat. We were about an hour early for the ferry. We both enjoyed Alcatraz. We used the (free) hour-long cell block audio tour, which was very interesting. We happened upon many other places on the island, including the beautiful gardens. There’s an interesting exhibit about prisons in the US. They also have 3 gift shop/bookstores! All in all, we think the trip was a fun and worthwhile addition to our stay in San Francisco

We did this tour April 23. It was so fun. Mark was a great guide. Lots of great San Francisco stories enroute. We saw everything described. But the best part was the interaction Mark had with all the people in our group. Our group didnt seem too big (21 people). There was trivia related to SF that he relayed over the day that we all guessed at. The bus was very clean. He had water and snacks for the people who needed it during the day. His voice was easy to hear and he answered all our questions. He gave great recommendations for restaurants, etc. Two thumbs up for sure.

Jake was very knowledgeable about San Francisco and kept us well informed. Made great suggestions on where to eat for lunch and dinner. Totally worth the money especially if you don't want to drive yourself around the town
