Overview

Travelers will experience a working citrus farm. We will guide you through the farm where you'll be explained the different phases and techniques the farmers use and implement to produce their fruit.

Furthermore you'll experience a dam full of hippo's with a few of the Drakensberg mountains in the background.

Last but not least; each traveler will receive a gin tasting on the banks of the Blyde river. Primos gin is locally Hoedspruit. Here you will receive some snacks and refreshments.

    The gin was great, the food was great, the company was great. Lane was an excellent tour leader and explained a little about citrus farming but not overly much as I think she sensed we were anxious to get at the gin…… Be aware that the tour starts at Matumi Farm and not at Francine’s Venue as suggested in the itinerary on Trip Advisor. The hippos at the dam seemed as interested to see us as we were to see them. All in all a really nice outing. We will be stopping by The Tasting Room on Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate to get ourselves a whole bottle of Primos Gin - gutted that it is not yet available in the UK.

    Bought 3 tickets for the citrus farm tour and were told there’s none when we were already at the citrus farm! Were not refunded or informed of this. We were sent to the Primos Wine and Gin Tasting venue in town and the co-manager told us that his partner is the one responsible for the tours, and is currently in Mozambique. No one offered to pay us back in the meantime, as that is his business partner. We were instead told to leave our details and when the other partner will refund us when he gets back in January! An incredible loss to us as the drive was far and the tickets were not cheap. Most of all it was the way the co-manager just told us he can do nothing about it because it’s his partner’s responsibility. As a partner we expected he’d be more concerned about the overall happiness of the Primos brand, and for us to be refunded on the spot and compensated for our trouble. His partner would pay him back after coming back from Mozambique or something. Still haven’t received our money back, but have little hope that we will be. I’ll believe it when we see it. P. S. When we were at the farm, the guy who owns the restaurant next to it told us that yours are no longer had there. Now we don’t know what to believe! Rather buy some wine at a liquor store, name a charcuterie, and spare yourself the disappointment we have encountered.
