Rumble aboard The Underground train as it rolls through an historic mining tunnel. Push up your sleeves at our Gold Panning Pavilion and keep what you find! Immerse yourself in the award-winning, live-action, multi-sensory experience of BOOM! on the breathtaking ground level of the historic Mill No.3 building. Learn about minerals, the copper extraction process and what life was like back in the day as the mill building is brought back to life.

The tour guide is so informative and the tour is educative. Learnt the evolution of mining industry and they have the exhibition of how the mine workers look like during the mining time

We were looking for something to do to kill time on the way down the mountain from Whistler to Vancouver, and this was definitely the right choice! We have two young kids between the ages of 5-10 and I was worried the younger one would be bored and squirmy, but everything worked great! The tour: -You take about a 5 minute train ride inside a tunnel to the inside of the mine. Our tour guide at 1:30 was excellent! Give that guy a raise!! The tour was informative, interactive, and really made you experience what it feels like to work inside a mine. If you are very claustrophobic, I might avoid this part of the museum though. He shows you what it was like to drill in a mine, he turns off the lights to show you how dark it was to work in them, etc. Like I said, it was enough interactive stuff to keep my 5-year-old interested. -The gold panning was the best part for my kiddos. They could've stayed there for an hour. You basically sift for small jewels/gold in the sand, and you can actually keep whatever you find. -The BOOM! show wasn't operating at the time, so unfortunately, we didn't get to experience that. -All in all, we probably spent a couple of hours there, or close to it, and it was a great experience to try out.

First visit to the mine museum even though I've lived in Vancouver for a long time. It was really fun. The guide was excellent, the interactive show was really good and it was very informative. Thoroughly recommend it .. great for kids and adults.

We visited Britannia Mine Museum and we were amazed by the professionalism and expertise of the on-ground team and the quality of services offered. The guide on tour was very knowledgeable and friendly; She gave us a comprehensive overview of the mine's history and significance as a major source of copper in its time. Highly recommend.

Outstanding museum experience! Whether you are a rockhound, history buff, in to big machinery, or fancy a fun stop along the sea-to-sky highway, this is THE place to visit. The tour guide gave a polished and highly informative journey through mine and mill that was for all ages. Panning for stones and the odd gold flake in an outdoor heated trough on a sunny November day was fantastic. Highly recommend this tourist stop for all.
