Overview

In the area of Pigeon Island, 1 km from the diving base, you’ll see colorful corals, Eels, small groups of different fish or colorful drawn Boxfish. Let yourself drift while iridescent Parrot Fish and Damselfish pass slowly. Filigree Lined Sweetlips Fish standing elegantly in the flow, Butterfly Fish and Banner fish dancing before the dark blue curtain of the sea. With some luck you have encounters with turtles, various species of ray or even Blacktip Reef Sharks there.

You don’t need to be a Scuba Diver to get to know the fascinating world underwater and its splendor. Equipped with mask, snorkel and fins you float on the surface and watch the vibrant coral reefs, rocks and coral fishes below. An intense experience and unforgettable moments.

Nilaveli Snorkeling at the famous Pigeon Island Marine Park is the absolute highlight at your stay at the Nilaveli Beach. We provide daily snorkeling trips from our Divinguru Nilaveli diving centre to the PIGEON ISLAND within a boat ride of around 10 minutes and a duration of around 2-3 hours snorkeling from the shore around the island. Around the Pigeon Island there are a lot of hard corals and you can see a lot of different coral fish of the Indian Ocean, sometime turtles and also Black Tip Reef Sharks in the shallow water. We provide all necessary snorkelling gear (mask, snorkel, fins) on request.

The entrance ticket is paid in CASH on arrival to our diving centre in Euro, USD or LKR. The price for the Entrance Ticket is around 40 Euros/adult.

We contacted Divinguru through their website, and they replied promptly. Great comms. Arranged to go snorkeling from their place in Nilaveli Beach to Mortar Rock They arranged free 3-wheeler pick up and return from/to our hotel. We were fitted out with equipment by Sophia and then had a fun boat ride to the site with Minan and Prabu. Minan guided us around in the water, and we saw lots of interesting fish, amazing coral and one of us saw a small shark. All in all, a fun experience - highly recommended

We had a very enjoyable snorkeling trip to Pigeon Island thanks to Divinguru (whom we found on TripAdvisor 😊). Their premises are spacious, clean, with top-quality equipment and an efficient and professional team. Mr Prem provided assistance when needed, and he pointed out so many sharks! It’s clearly a well-run outfit - would certainly recommend it.

I recently visited Trincomalee port through cruise and wanted to experience Snorkeling and Scuba Diving. Found contact details of DivinGuru and was amazed with an end to end experience which they provided to our family. It was such an incredible experience where they took care of picking us from the cruise port, took care of all required safety gear, boat and equipment required for diving activities, helped my parents during snorkeling as they didn’t knew swimming and finally dropped us back to the cruise port. Everything was seamless, on time with great professionalism. Dinu who coordinated everything from pickup to drop, Darshana, Darshan, Sathees, Prem and Varathan helped us with Snorkeling and Scuba diving and all of them were amazing. Pristine white sand beaches with turquoise blue water and nice diving experience made our vacation memorable. I would highly recommend them for any of your trips to Trincamolee.

This is a great diving business. I had a bad dive years ago that put me off diving for a long time and I used to dive a lot. I wanted to try again and was a bit nervous but I had a brilliant experience with two refresher dives with diving guru and I can’t wait to dive again. My wife and kids went snorkelling at Pigeon Island while I did my dives and it was very special. They saw sharks and turtles and lots of other things around this beautiful reef. I snorkelled with them in between dives. We were collected from our hotel and driven back and the whole experience was fantastic. There is probably a very good reason they are the most popular diving business in the area. They are also very good value. Thanks for helping me to fall back in love with diving!

The trip to pigeon island was perfect ! The team was very professional ( and very respectful toward the wild life not like local companies) And thanks to them we were the first boat on the island so we were able to see many sharks and turtles. I definitely recommend divinguru to live this experience to the fullest !
