Overview

Twizy Safari is a 4 hours tour. Note: we are near Puerto de Santiago a 110 km from Santa Cruz the Capital. We drive up to the mountains with 100% electric cars to 4,000 feet high. On our trip we make a couple of stops. It is outside the tourist zone, about culture, geology, amazing landscapes with unique and fun driving experience. The price includes Soft drink, a local coffee speciality and visit (if open) a pottery workshop. We drive across the lava fields of El Chinyero, and visit an original banana plantation. Finally we roll down on quiet mountain roads and take a close glance at the untouched villages of Tenerife.

Power of the Twizy: race car feeling and super quiet. Perfect balance. Air bag and seatbelt protection. No windows, cool fresh mountain air, but no helmet and no sunburn. Maximum 10 guests so it is never crowded. The perfect choice for families and friends.

We stop in a beautiful traditional Canarian cafe where we invite our guests for a local coffee speciality and cold soft drinks. While they enjoy their drinks, we tell a complex resume about the Islands history and culture.

Stop At: Santiago del Teide, Santiago del Teide, Tenerife, Canary Islands

A walk around the historic village of Santiago del Teide. We visit the centre of the village to get a deep understanding of life away from the coast.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Chio, Chio, Tenerife, Canary Islands

We stop at a Gourmet cottage industry, producing jams, chutneys, canarian mojo sauces. Customers get a detailed explanation of the production process while walking through the kitchen and after that we have a tasting without obligation of buying the produtcts.

Stop At: Puerto de Santiago, Puerto de Santiago, Tenerife, Canary Islands

We visit a real export banana plantation. While tasting local bananas we walk between the plants and provide a full explanation of how it is cultivated on the island.

    I have decided to make a visit to Tenerife to experience one of the islands, but also to experience another Twizy tour, similar to the ones I did over in Malaga previously, but this time with a different setting. The tour was done around the southwestern part of the island, which included a stop at one of the banana plantations, as well as stops in various villages, including looking at one of the churches, a village festival and to sample the local coffee. At one point the tour went through El Chinyero’s lava fields, which were formed in 1909 as a result of the El Chinyero volcano eruption that year. The lava fields look very mars-like, and therefore a perfect setting given the Twizy looks like a space buggy with sci-fi, frutiger aero bubble-like styling. (pov: on a mars mission, except this is in a lava field in El Chinyero) Not only did the guide lead me through some of the finest and mesmerising views of the island while driving, there were also a wide variety of road conditions as well, an ideal opportunity to put one's EV driving skills to the test. The downhill sections of the tour route were also ideal for practicing regenerative braking, where the power that would otherwise be used for driving the wheels is sent back to the battery. This tour is ideal for those who have never driven electric before but want to experiment with it, or anyone who has already driven electric but intent on sharpening their skills. It is also ideal for anyone wanting a completely different tour experience away from the crowds while also minimising their environmental impact. Whatever the reason for doing the tour, fantastic views and an in-depth experience of the island’s culture is guaranteed. Many thanks and respect to Dani and the team for the fantastic experience!

    Booked the Twizzy safari as surprise for my Dad who was celebrating his 80th Birthday. It was perfect & our party of 8 throughly enjoyed it. Dani was a fabulous guide & we learnt so much about the Island history & visit places we would never have found. Dani even provided surprise birthday cake. 5* Highly recommend

    What an amazing and memorable day out! We booked the tour before we arrived in Tenerife, as we saw the good reviews and didn’t want to miss out - and so glad we did. The tour was excellent - fun, eco friendly cars and an opportunity to see parts of the island you might otherwise miss. The tour guide - Daniel - was incredible. Super friendly, and an encyclopaedic knowledge of Tenerife and its’ history, and with a way of imparting knowledge that makes it incredibly easy to understand and absorb - I am sure he would make a fantastic teacher. He also has an amazing grasp of languages, so no-one on in small tour group felt left out. I would definitely recommend doing this tour - it’s worth every penny!

    Great Tour, driving with that astonishing view was an amazing experience. Dan, our tour guide is very knowledgeable, plenty of interesting history about the island. Strongly recommend.
