We enjoyed visiting Bratislava for a day from Vienna. The bus ride is smooth and we found our tour soon after our arrival. Lunch was fantastic!
I found Bratislava a charming town. The tour guiding was minimal: we were unaccompanied on the journey out and back and the tour guide only gave us an hour of her time before dumping us at a restaurant for a pre-booked meal. My meal itself was unsatisfactory. I am vegetarian with digestive issues, and the food available did not really suit me. The time keeping of the buses out and back was fine.
It is a nice city and tour guide explained all the details in the old town. The lunch option provided is also nice and lunch menu was awesome.
This really was an excellent day out. Got to the main bus station on U3 direct from our hotel. It was right next door and a smallish station so really easy to find bus. My instructions told me to get off at 2nd bus stop SNP Most, and meeting point was 2 minutes away. There were only 5 of us in the group so easy to hear and ask questions. The tour did take 2 hours rather than 1 which was our gain. Lunch was soup and then chicken and chips, the others had coffee and cake option. All lovely. Plenty of free time so walked to castle and blue church. Then had coffee and cake in oldest coffee shop. The honey cake was one of nicest cakes ever had. Our guide was Yuri (spelt wrong) and was excellent.
I thought visiting Bratislava, Slovakia was an amazing place to visit. I thought guided tour was fantastic the man who did the guide tour was very knowledgeable about the history of the city, which is something I've learnt about. It was worth having a 2 course lunch which was free.
