Things to Do and See

You can explore the Rhine Falls with a round trip on foot or by boat. For the former, a suggested route would start and end at the railway station, Schloss Laufen is Rheinfall.

You can choose to include stops for your tour package to do activities along the way, enjoy the view and take pictures. To fully enjoy the falls and the activities there, you might need to allocate 2 to 6 hours for your trip.

First, you will walk from the rail station to the 1,000-year-old Schloss Laufen, where you will find a playground, restaurant and a “Historama”, which is an exhibition about the Rhine Falls and the castle.

You can go down to the observation platform, either on foot by the glass Panoramic Lift or via the Belvedere Trail, and then take the boat across the falls to the Schlössli Wörth, which is a hundred-year-old castle that is located on a tiny island.

You can then take the railway bridge to take you back to the Schloss Laufen and the railway station.

If you want to have an even closer experience of the falls, then take several boat tours on the Rhine. For example, there is a boat trip that will take you to the rock in the middle of the falls.

Depending on which one you choose, the boat trips can take 10 to 30 minutes.
