The Netherlands - Holiday packages and tours

Talk about going on vacation in the Netherlands and images of windmills, canal towns and tulips immediately spring to mind. While those have truly transformed into icons so closely tied to the Netherlands, there is so much more the country can offer.

While Amsterdam might be the favorite destination of many, other cities like The Hague offer their own charm. Even smaller cities such as Delft and Haarlem each have their own unique character. And you'll find that for such a small area a remarkable amount of sightseeing and activities to do.

Places to visit in the Netherlands

The Netherlands may be small but almost every inch of its surface is packed with such interesting sights to see and things to do. Traveling through the country also introduces you to just how distinct each place is for such a small area – each place you go to seems to have a different accent and dialect.

  • Amsterdam – one of the most obvious choice destinations when planning a trip to the Netherlands. It's a city driven by art and design. Equal parts quirky and innovative but with strong links to its past, Amsterdam is truly charming with its canals, concerts, museums, summertime festivals and intense party scene.
  • The Hague – laid-back and relaxing, this city is the home of the Dutch government, as well as some of the finest museums in the country.
  • Rotterdam – a gritty port city blessed with such wondrous modern architecture.
  • Delft – filled with attractive medieval buildings.
  • Haarlem – the very first center of Dutch art, it truly feels like you've traveled back to the Golden Age of Netherlands in the 17th century when you walk past its historic almhouse courtyards and the redbrick gabled facades of its historic streets.
