When a driver showed up at the cruise port in Warnemunde in an impeccably maintained luxury vehicle my husband and I were a little bit jealous. "Someone is going to have a great day" we joked as we waited for our tour. When the driver held up a sign with our name, we started on the best day trip of our travels! We met up with our tour guide, Boris, in Berlin and saw all the sights we wished to see and more. Our driver (I think his name was Tom) was always right there to pick us back up when we were ready to be whisked to the next monument, museum, or structure. Boris was fantastic, not just knowledgeable, but intuitive. He customized the entire experience for us. We explored the city's historic landmarks at the pace we set, and he answered each question with detail. Halfway through the day we had a 3-course lunch at Kafer, on the top of the Reichstag. The incredible views of the city and tour through the infamously burned parliament added to the experience. Berlin is obviously rich with a tangible and heavy history. Boris lightened up the experience with a wine tasting and a remarkable chocolate tasting. We finished our tour with an impromptu trip to his favorite bakery for coffee and gourmet pastries. This tour is all the stars!!
