Spend the evening going to four local eateries to sample such classics as Cig Kofte, Icli Kofte, Cag Kebab, and Turkish baklava. Learn how to prepare these Turkish delicacies and see the city at night with an English-speaking guide.

What Can You Expect?

Enjoy a culinary journey of Istanbul on this small-group. Spend your evening visiting 4-different local eateries featuring Turkish favorites. See Taksim Square and other neighborhoods in Istanbul. Try such delicacies as Cig Kofte, a favorite snack from the southeastern area of the country. Learn how this raw dish is made and sample it. Savor the combined flavors of chopped onions, Bulgar, finely chopped beef, fresh mint, parsley, and spices.

Head to Taksim Square next to try another southeastern Turkish classic. Learn how to prepare Icli Kofte, this popular dish that combines meat filling, nuts, and different spices. Try Icli Kofe, which can be either steamed or steamed then deep fried. Stop at an eatery that specializes in kebabs. Taste the traditional Cag Kebab made from lamb and roasted on a horizontal spit. Finish the tour with a sweet treat at one of the best dessert shops. Taste the Turkish baklava, a pastry filled with a honey and pistachio nut filling.

Return to your hotel at the end of the tour with convenient transfer service.

    Our guide was knowledgeable but did not explain the structure of the tour (mostly walking to food in three very different locales). The sightseeing part was much longer than the tour description indicated, so we only enjoyed the first stop (after 40 minutes walking). We left the tour and departed without the third stop. Perhaps we misunderstood the description, but would not recommend as a food tour.

    What a wonderful experience with this company, and in particular this walking tour. My son has a fatal nut allergy that was key for us to safely navigate - Ayhan easily tailored the experience to his dietary restrictions while guiding us through the culinary delights and historic sites of Istanbul. Ayhan is informative, flexible, and lots of fun - a perfect way to begin a journey through such an amazing city.

    The Tour Guide Ayhan Akkilic was excellent! He met us on time, is extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions intelligently and thoroughly. He took my Wife and I to the places we wanted to go and avoided taking us to places that we told him we had already been. We went to several places to eat and Ayhan made sure that my Wife was able stick to Her gluten-free diet, while I had my fill of meat, fish and salad. The tour was very enlightening, Ayhan is very easy-going and days after the tour Ayhan was willing to text us Metro directions from our hotel in Esenler, to the Hodjapasha Cultural Center. I strongly suggest that you do not hesitate to use Ayhan's company and services because they will make your visit to Turkiye go so much more smoothly, in addition to making it memorable.

    Interesting and tasty experience! Ayhan was an excellent and knowledgeable host. We tasted some delicious food, learnt about the history of various of quarters of Istanbul and had a great time. A highly recommended activity!
