Overview

Have you ever thought of Paris as of a copy of another, older place? While being the most beautiful city in the world it is modeled after another, much older city. This private guided walking tour of neoclassical Paris takes you through an area that changed dramatically in the years prior to the French Revolution and makes you understand how the city of Paris is a reflection of the city of Rome. Explore the strict and sober elegance of the neoclassical style at Palais Royal, the Tuileries,  the Cour Carré and other important sites.

We had such a wonderful tour with Mila! She was easy to understand, friendly and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed how much she brought art, architecture, history and culture together.

Our tour was fantastic! We learned so much and saw things we would definitely not have seen otherwise. We obtained an understanding of how architecture aligns with the history of the French nation.

Another great experience with Boris after our tour with him in Rodin's museum! We've discovered the hidden beauty of Paris we've never seen before and its great history, thanks to our excellent and knowledgeable guide! I do recommend this tour, don't miss it!

Dunja Resanovic, a PhD candidate in Urban History, was my tour guide. She took me through key sections of downtown Paris, showing me changes in French architecture during the Second Empire (1850's- 1870), and taught me the background and history of the re-design of Paris into a global capital. I had no previous background in either art or architecture, but she made it fascinating and even took me "backstage" and behind closed doors to see little known gems. We had so much fun that we actually went far beyond the scheduled 2 hours! I recommend this tour (and Dunja) to anyone.
