You will meet the driver at your accomodation. After boarding in a confortable air-conditioned Mercedes minivan, you start travelling to Tivoli. After approximately 45 minutes, you meet a local licensed guide, who will take you into the Hadrian’s Villa, built by the request of the Emperor Hadrian, the Villa is a monumental living complex that even today continues to display the lavishness and enormous power of Ancient Rome.

After visiting Hadrian Villa, the guide will take you to explore another popular touristic attraction near Rome: Villa D'este; this is one of the most romantic place you can visit while in Rome. My half day trip to Tivoli was fantastic! I can't believe I had never heard of this fantastic city before. It was an easy 30 min ride from central Rome into the beautiful countryside. My amazing guide, Alessia, even took me to a shop for fresh made olive oil before heading back to Rome! She made the history come to life and was such a joy to be with for the day and learn from her. Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este were both breathtaking!

Hadrian's Villa blew us away. It is larger than Pompeii and very well-preserved. The gardens at the Villa d'Este are truly amazing. Our private guide for both was highly knowledgeable and customized the tour for us. Our driver/guide from Rome was extremely accommodating, prompt and courteous. A fantastic and easy way to enjoy the beautiful Villas in Tivoli!

If you have been to Rome before & have seen all the sights, this should be your next ‘excursion’. We had a private driver take us to Tivoli where we met our private guide...a Roman history schoolteacher who was filling in for a friend. She was sooo knowledgeable! It was HOT, but there was water along the way. The history of Hadrian (Adrian to the Italians) was mind-boggling!! Amazing how they could build what they did in only 20 years! The second part of the tour was nearby & much more lush & beautiful (see pics). Lunch was on our own. Tour guide had a few recommendations. Loved the one we chose (see my review). I liked that we had time for a leisurely lunch nearby before we met our driver for the trip back to our hotel.
