Overview

One of the two oldest public buildings in Adelaide, the Adelaide Gaol is said to be the most haunted site in South Australia. On this evening walking tour of the jail with a guide, learn about its history, which dates back to the time of the early settlers, and perhaps come in contact with one of the ghostly inmates.

Tours run selected dates throughout each month.   Time and date must be selected upon booking.

Be incarcerated in Australia's longest continuously operating gaol. Discover the ghost of Governor Ashton, whose body was dropped through a window, Sister Mary MacKillop's link with the Gaol and the spirit of South Australia's most sadistic killer still stalking his prey.

With 45 hangings and a burial site in Murderer's Row, it's no surprise more than 12 spirits haunt the 147 year old building.

Your evening includes a ghost tour with the opportunity to make contact through paranormal investigation tools.

Definitely worth doing. Our guide was perfect. It's not just for fans of ghosts etc, our guide told us all about the history and that's exactly what I wanted.

Was very disappointing we were so excited to be there and to have a cell lockdown but as soon as we started to get active it was time to get out 10 minutes in lockdown was no where near long enough the gruop was way to big and the guides didn't even no the facts of the gaol or how many ppl where hanged in there my brother and I were drown to go upstairs but we were not allowed it was locked up so all in all was a very disappointing experience

Excellent tour guides that share real life stories from the gaol. They showed us photos of the actual people from the gaol and their backgrounds. We explored different areas of the gaol and got to explore the paranormal activities with the different tools to connect with the ghosts. I used the copper rods and was able to connect with ghosts from different locations and it was an experience. One of my photos even includes a face of a man. Highly recommend the tour and not only do you hear about background of the gaol you also get to explore the paranormal which was a first for me.

It was my daughters birthday present wish to have the experience we all had a spooky time. The storeys that were told we're very eye opening and very interesting thumbs up to to two lady's.
