Our tours has been designed to suit not only those who have no experience of sea kayak, combining adventure and relaxation, but will also appeal to expert kayakers keen on caving and pot-holing and wild rugged landscapes, who would like to discover the secrets of these fascinating islands. We will paddle and swim into caves and tunnels carved from the lava of Vulcano, paddle and swim in the bubbling warm thermal spa waters that abound in the bays and grottos of this fabulous island.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

After meeting on the beach, we will get yo ready with you equipment. The choice of the type of boat (open or closed kayak) is at the discretion of the organizers, depending on the weather or the season. You will have a safety introduction and a short class about how to use the paddle.

After the introduction we will start at Spiaggia delle Acque Calde and paddle along the the east coast of Vulcano island.

We are going to stop at several caves, paddle through arches, explore a thermal cave and paddle through another one with turquoise water.

We will stop at designated spots and if you want you can go for a dip in the crystal clear water and snorkel.

On the way back we will pass the fumaroles (vulcanic activity in the water) that you can see bubbling inn the water.

We will end our trip back at our base.

This was one of the highlights of my whole trip. I had never been kayaking and wanted to experience it around a volcano, and I found this tour. It did not disappoint - in fact it exceeded my expectations. Eugenio is so incredibly passionate about was he does and really does give you the best possible experience of the island from the sea. I will forever be grateful for the stories and history of the island he told en route, and the overall thrill of kayaking around a volcano. It was something on my bucket list. Eugenio was very professional but at the same time warm and friendly, everything was provided, including wet suit and wet bag, so I was able to take my phone, GoPro etc.(although it is not recommended as you could capsize anytime, I didn’t though!) and he himself also had a camera and took some cool photos for which you can purchase after. Well worth it! The day was just beautiful, perfect water, perfect temperature outside, sunny, and when it was all over, he and Stephanie invited me to stay for pasta knowing I was about to embark on a 3 hour hike up Vulcano without having eaten (silly me forgot to take food). I thought that was really sweet of them. The sea was full of jellyfish so I wasn’t fond of going in (totally optional) but we still went into some super cool caves with beautiful blue water so I got to swim in those (I will upload many more photos on my Instagram @invictan_ , please feel free to check it out!). Honestly one of the best things ive ever done. I highly recommend as you get to experience this beautiful and unique island from a totally different perspective with Eugenio who is just full of positivity and knowledge. Thank you for making this such an unforgettable experience Eugenio, I really hope to visit again soon!! :D

My parents and me booked a trip with eugenio and we LOVED it. the views were spectacular - the smoking volcano and lipari with its stone formations...eugenio adapted to our tempo and took amazing photographs all while kajaking through secret rock openings. we even had a picnick in the sun! thank you so much for making this experience unforgettable. we'll be back for sure!!

If you have not come to Vulcano to paddle yet, you definitely should. Eugenio is a fantastic guide, an absolute pro (from the initial briefing to the end of the tour), patient and kind and with a great sense of humor, who tailors his tours to the needs and preferences of all participants, no matter their age or skills. And while he shares his knowledge of this fascinating island and his passion for sea kayaking, this is also very entertaining and light, time just flies. Since the weather was not in favor of longer tours, I joined two kayak & coasteering excursions—I was not convinced by the coasteering part in the first place but loved it in the end; the rock and lava formations and caves with their special colors and light were impressive; both tours were similar yet different, and the local goat cheese we got to taste after one tour was a delight—and a fabulous trip to Lipari and the faraglioni and back, including some very useful exercises (grazie mille!!). I would love to join another tour again.

The kayaking on Vulcano was for sure one of our nicest days on our Sicily trip. The forecast was a bit uncertain, we were afraid of it to be cancelled, but it turned out to be ok, only slightly windy. We went to all the spots of the smaller tour in a natural harbor, where we left the kayaks for a swim and some little cave climbs and jumps. Highly recommend. Eugenio was a great host for the trip and also gave us assistance and advice for our Vulcano hikes.

Eugenio was a fantastic guide -- he shared stories about the island, geology, wildlife, and his lifelong love of kayaking. Friendly, helpful, and fun, I couldn't have asked for more. We even sang Italian songs paddling our way back through the harbor. He can accommodate any skill level and interest, tailoring the trip to your desire. He also tempted me with multi-day kayak-camping!
