Petra was abandoned by the Nabateans thousands of years ago. They left us with the amazing site of Petra. The Nabateans were very industrious scabblers, and brave warriors. They prospered from building cisterns to hold the rainwater, and then selling the water to passing merchants and travelers.
Petra is located in the middle of the desert, a 3 hour drive from Amman, or a 2 hour drive from Aqaba. Viewing the Treasury it is easy to see how Petra has become one of the seven wonders of the world.
We'll arrive back at your hotel.
