Your first stop is at the picturesque village of Zaanse Schans, a beautiful area on the Zaan and a popular destination because of its original windmills, vividly capturing Dutch life in the 17th and 18th centuries. Get an impression of traditional Dutch life at the historic shipyard and the iconic Holland mills. During your tour, you will have access to a mill and you also can see how it works.

Stop At: Volendam, Volendam, North Holland Province

Your next stop is in the most famous fishing village of the Netherlands: Volendam. The village is known for its beautiful harbour, the fishmonger, the authentic Dutch character and the traditional costume. In short, a fantastic destination in every season! Upon arrival in Volendam, you will visit the cheese farm and the clog industry. Eventually, you can have lunch at the best fish restaurant in Volendam.

Our guide, Sunny, was fantastic. He made the tour so enjoyable. The tour of an actual functioning windmill that was a sawmill was the highlight

We had a lovely guide in Sam. He was of course knowledgeable about the subject matter of the tour and shared lots of interesting information about Amsterdam, but the highlight was really how wonderful he was with our young kids (2yo and 4yo). They were very taken with him, asking to hold his hands which he kindly obliged. The accompanying photo is of one such instance. They were even asking for him at dinner, long after the tour ended! Thanks Sam for such a memorable time!

This trip is far too expensive for what it is. You don't actually see much so was quite dissapointed that we gave 520€ for 2 of us. The driver was a nice guy but we felt quite rushed, we wanted to look into the shops when walking past but he always rushed off then we needed to find him. It was nice that it was a private tour but I don't feel it was worth the price tag it came with. Had we off gotten to see more places then it would have been worth it.

Sam was our tour for the day, we absolutely enjoyed our time. Same was super friendly, welcoming, generous and knowledgeable not only of the tour but he also shared general history and knowledge about the Netherlands and the areas we visited. We visited the Windmills, Cheese factory and fishing village, had time to shop and walk around a bit. Sam was both flexible with time and efficient. Tour duration was great too, we went through everything and still had the rest of the day to enjoy the city.
