During your food walking tour with Fusina, discover sweet and savory Dutch street foods at five or six different food stops, including a stop at the local market. First stop will be at what Fusina considers the best family-run pastry shop in town where you will try Dutch appleschnitt. Next is Pieterma’s food truck and taste Dutch locals' most popular appetizer, bitterballen. Learn about the history of the Dutch colony of Suriname and it's influence on Dutch cuisine as you try a vegan finger food called Barra . Next is Albert Cuyp market where she will introduce you to stroopwafels, freshly baked by a septuagenarian father and son team and fresh herring with pickles and onions (Dutch sashimi). At the organic market, Fusina will show you typical Dutch products and you will also get to try several Dutch cheeses. Discover Dutch favorite dishes in this unique 2-hour experience!

If you choose the optional add-on of alcohol at an additional cost, you will be treated to Dutch beer.

While the guide wasn’t rude, I wouldn’t say she was fun either. We didn’t start our tour until 2:15 and it ended at 3:50, so it was about an hour and a half, not 2-3hrs as listed. The tour felt very rushed and we didn’t really hear a lot about the history or anything past a few comments on what the foods were that we tried. I wish we’d saved our money and just gone to the market ourselves. The food was mostly shared and couldn’t have cost more that €20 each, meaning we paid €70 each to be rushed around for an hour and a half. Don’t do it.

Our host, Fusina, was warm and generous with her time and her knowledge of food and The Netherlands! It was a sunny, warm day and we strolled through town and the market and Fusina told us about Amsterdam’s food, history and culture. The food was delicious and I even enjoyed pickled herring! We had a very nice time.

Fusina is a fantastic guide, really friendly and welcoming. I particularly loved the fish, but all of the food was delicious!

The food we had on the tour was great (good quality) but we weren’t stuffed afterwards (just to give you an idea of quantity). Exploring the market and stopping in the bodega were highlights for us. The final stop in a grocery store was a bit strange. But overall, we were glad we went on the tour!

Fusina has warm relationships with all of the places where she brought us — delicious selections with great attention to locally produced foods and deep connections to producers (e.g. the fish was caught on a boat that morning!). A pleasure. Highly recommended. 🙂

Rushed experience, little information given and definitely not worth almost €100 each.
