Our Rijksmuseum tour with Marten was awesome! We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children ages 9 and 11. Marten did an excellent job of introducing the museum, its history and its reflection of the progression of Dutch culture. The children had never before been to a museum where art is the mainstay and Marten did a great job of keeping their attention. We all went away with new ideas and perspectives to give thought too. We would highly recommend Marten for this tour!

There were 3 of us going to the Rijksmuseum, and we met Marten at the museum to guide us through this huge place. He was a wonderful guide! We did not have a lot of time, and Marten took us through the highlights and explained the history of what we were looking at as well as bits of interesting information about what we were seeing that we would not have known without him. He was knowledgeable , interesting, informative , and had a nice sense of humor.

Marten was an exceptional guide. His familiarity with the Rijksmuseum allows him to take you directly to significant and important artworks among the vast collection, which would have been overwhelming on our own. He has an incredible knowledge of Dutch and world history. We thoroughly enjoyed his enlightened insights and explanation of the evolution of Dutch society, culture, economics, religion and government, and how that is reflected in the art of the various time periods. I highly recommend booking a Rijksmuseum tour with Marten!

This was our 4th visit to the Rijksmuseum & Marten made it our best visit yet. He was an engaging & informative communicator. What I especially liked was putting the paintings in the context of history - what was happening when it was painted. For me, that made them come to life. I would love to do it again if I could do it with Marten.

We very much enjoyed the tour with Anna through the Van Gogh Museum. She gave us a very good insight of the painter's life, his problems he had and explained the different styles of painting to us. She is a very nice and charming person and when we come back to Amsterdam, we surely will contact her for other tours.
