Overview

If you love food & are not scared to try new flavours, this private food tour is for you! Join us on a stroll through Amsterdam’s most vibrant neighbourhood, the Pijp, and an opportunity to explore wonderful new flavours. We will visit several delicious hotspots where you can taste what Amsterdam has on its menu.

We will walk down the most famous street market in the Netherlands, where we tell you about the area and its significance to locals.

Along with the market, we will taste a few of the best Dutch snacks. We will tell you about the history of the beautiful Sarphatipark and we have some more tastings. We will balance flavours & cuisines and explore a mix of both sweet and savoury. Think about traditional Dutch Cheese, Herring, Poffertjes and a lot more.

The Netherlands culture might not be about food but the tastes and quality of the street foods are excellent & will give you a real flavour of what it is like to 'eat Dutch'.

Be sure to join us with an empty stomach!

Chris, our tour guide, was amazing. We got so much more than a food tour! We ate so many delicious and interesting foods and learned the history and significance of many of them. I would definitely recommend him. Well worth it. Note: ask La Vacanza Travel to put you in touch with your guide prior to setting out for your meeting place so you can verify with the actual guide as to exactly where to meet. Chris went out of his way for us and showed us a great time!

This is a must do tour for anyone wanting a food tour mixed with a ton of culture and history along the way. Our guide drove the primary discussion but we were able to steer conversations to what we wanted to know and she had a ton of expertise on all of it. Every food place and item along the way felt well timed and all were delicious. I highly suggest this tour, but prepare for rain or shine as it truly is a lot of walking outdoors.

Stefan did a great job! He explained the history as well as the food of the Jordaan district. He was friendly and made us all feel welcome.

Our guide this time was Louke (Lucca). She was amazing from the get go and very lively. You can tell they do the research before bringing guests on tours. Money is well worth it with all of the food included. Be sure to bring an empty stomach
