The Grand Palace. The customer must pay for entrance fee. Visit the Royal Grand Palace, one of the most important landmarks in Bangkok built in 1782. Explore the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew, Thailand’s most sacred temple with the revered Emerald Buddha, and other key attractions such as the Coronation Throne Hall, Royal Reception Hall, Royal Funeral Hall, the Golden Chedi, and the Royal Pantheon.

Floating streets with typical Thai food and clothes was mystical. I also tried riding an elephant! Unforgettable experience indeed! The floating street tour was a bit expensive though for a solo traveler - 5000 BHT. The experience was worth it though.

Driver speaks no English and the translational app is poor.Unable to communicate except on a very basic level.Best part of a driver is the insight into the culture of the city. Driver parked far away from palace because parking was expensive next to it..Finally we paid for parking.

This day did not go well, Booked several weeks ago which was suppose to guarantee an English speaking driver - this was definitely not the case. It took us 20mins at pick up with the help of the hotel to confirm with him that it was us he was collecting. We could not get him to understand anything we said or where we wanted to go so had to get a map and point to the destination. He eventually took us to the Grand Palace and had to use a phone translator app to arrange a meeting point. As we needed to be back at hotel for 4pm we daren’t go anywhere else as he couldn’t give us any indication about distances or traffic so stopped for food and then went back to hotel. The whole idea of booking a driver was to be able to get some indication of getting about although we know he wasn’t a tour guide. We may as well just jumped into a taxi. Use La Vacanza Travel a lot but this has put me off as was nothing like the description of the activity.

Since the group consists of elderly people, it was decided to book a private tour with a driver for their comfort. I hope it's just an isolated case. The driver (with the name the elders forgot), as per them, was not helpful at all. One incident that stuck to their minds was when they ask to go to china town. Instead for the driver to drop them to the nearest possible location, he opt to do an easy parking and let the elders walk a fair distance. Will probably not book this again.
