Tukta was the best guide. She coupled information on the origins of the different foods and their cultural meanings with the country’s cultural history. I learned a lot and eat even more. No regrets!!!

What an experience to see Bangkok through its food. We would never have seen or tasted the food of Bangrak neighborhood without this tour. Food was delicious, if not a little too spicy for some in our group. Tukta was an amazing guide. She was personable, laughed together, and we learned much about life in Bangkok. Highly recommend this tour.

Had a great time at Bangrak, not far from Bangkok city center, with Tukta our friendly tour guide. Got to taste authentic Thai food in small neighbourhoods. Aroi! The pandan custard bread and milk tea at that bakery is truly life changing. Must-do tour for food lovers :)

We met our guide Preme at the Saphan Taskin BTS station. After a short walk we reached our first stop where we had roast duck with a special bean sauce. I'm not a huge fan of duck, but this was one of the better ones we had this trip. We then stopped for a drink of bitter water. If anyone knows me, I have a hard time with anything bitter. Preme suggested I try something a bit sweeter. It had a medicinal taste, but was pretty good. Fish ball noodle soup was next on the list. If we had one complaint about this tour, it was there was a lot of food as the portion sizes were full portions. I gave each fish ball a try, but as I'm on medication that controls my appetite, I wanted to pace myself for what was to come. Grilled Pork was next on the list. It was delicious. I think it was the sweet and tangy sauce that made this dish. To make room for more food we wandered around the area and looked at some local temples before stopping at the cutest little bakery for some Pandan Custard Buns and tea. The buns were heavenly. I couldn't get over how soft they were! We even got the chance to peek in the kitchen to see where the magic was made. I couldn't believe how much that small kitchen could produce! I'm drawing a blank on our next dish, but I believe it was a beef stew (beef in Massaman curry is coming to mind). We then walked by some local schools including Assumption Convent. Preme had gone to a similar school growing up. Taking a boat to the other side of the river, we headed down a local alley to a local shop called Yum Rod Sab where we had Lotus Stem Som Tum and Lemongrass Fried Chicken. We were pretty full by this point, so we took the chicken to go to have for a snack later. We walked over to Icon Siam where Preme showed us the beautiful view from the Starbucks patio on the top floor. We then headed down to SookSiam in the lower level for dessert which was a delicious Thai banana pancake. Normally the tour ends at the BTS Charoen Nakhon Station, but as the Icon Siam was a quick boat ride across the river from our hotel, we said our goodbyes to Preme right after dessert. We thought this tour was excellent and well thought out. It was fantastic to be able to see some of the local points of interest during the tour. Preme was a fabulous guide.

My friends and I had a fantastic food and cultural tour, thanks to our enthusiastic and fun guide, Neung! She was super friendly and accommodated all our dietary needs during the tour. Neung not only helped us understand the history of each dish/establishment, but also gave insights into the different places we visited. She also happily answered all our questions throughout the tour. By the end, we all made a new friend. Overall, it was a great experience, and we all left with a happy tummy! Thank you so much Neung and Bangkok Food Tours for this experience. Would highly recommend it to everyone.
