Although the temple had existed since at least the seventeenth century, its distinctive prang (spires) were built in the early nineteenth century during the reign of King Rama II.

This was a great tour seeing all the main temples and palace. Everything ran smoothly & the contact from the tour operator beforehand was excellent. Our guide Benny & our driver were both great & really flexible. The lunch at a local Thai restaurant was lovely.
