Highlights at Wat Traimit

The solid gold Sukhothai-style Buddha image was originally covered in plaster, but its original façade was revealed after movers accidentally dropped it. Pieces of the plaster are still kept on display at the temple.

Wat Traimit has a museum on the 3rd floor, where you get to learn about the history of the Golden Buddha. A video presentation provides a brief background on Buddha images, followed by the full story of the sculpture within the temple. Exhibits also cover the historical background of how it came to be at Wat Traimit. The 2nd floor exhibits 3D presentations detailing the history of the Chinese traders in Bangkok

Even after repeated inquiries, we haven't received the pick-up time and the pick-up location. we were therefore unable to take part in the tour. nevertheless the refund was refused.

do this one day before doing Royal Palace - least that was what I did and it helped having this one first - the temples move fast and that is great - there is only so much time to spend there - guide gives you the information you need

This is one of the most magnificent and majestic images of the Buddha in south east asia. The temple's architecture is simply astonishing and presents a stellar enshrined place for the Buddha. I highly recommend enthusiastic tourists to visit this awesome temple.

This tour was kind of a mixed bag. The only good thing I can say is the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history and Buddha and what not. And the temples themselves were incredible. Otherwise, for starters, the guide showed up almost an hour late. I kept trying to contact the company through La Vacanza Travel and nobody was answering me. When they finally showed up, myself and three others went to the temples, and the tour guide spent the entire tour rushing us along. We would literally only have 15 or 20 minutes at each temple! I barely had time to take any pictures much less enjoy it, and the tour guide was very annoying and kept saying “Sister! Sister! We have to go now!” And I was going at a normal pace! I wasn’t dawdling at all, and the other couple had a child so most of the time they were behind me, but she kept rushing us through all the temples. I felt like I hardly got to see any of it! And repeatedly calling me sister was getting more aggravating as the tour went on. I was trying to take some pictures and she was squawking at me again, and I finally just came out and said “Let me take some pictures!” Then to finish off, she bailed out at a hotel before the tour was even over. Quite honestly, between that and some food poisoning I picked up two days earlier, this tour nearly ruined my trip and made me just give up and go home. Fortunately, I waited on that decision and went on an excellent market tour the next day with Arlymear travel. InnViaggi should seriously take some pointers from them.
