Overview

We start and finish at Clifton 4th beach. It is known for its beautiful white sand and huge granite boulders and has been voted as one of the top ten beaches in the world.

With stable, easy to use plastic kayaks that are easy to use for beginners, we are able to explore the shallow rock pools and kelp forests safely. Guests are able to swim with diving masks to enhance their experience even more.

The magnificent views of Lions Head, Table Mountain, the 12 Apostles and the rest of the experience will linger in your memory long after leaving Cape Town. Like a lot of other guests, you will probably book with us again on your next visit to Cape Town.

The weather in Cape Town can change a lot from day to day. We want to take you kayaking on the best day possible. In order for us to do so, please book your trip for the beginning of your time in Cape Town, so that we can reschedule it if needed.

Itinerary

Upon arrival guests will be welcomed, asked to sign an indemnity form, given a PFD (Portable Floating Device) and offered the use a waterproof cell phone case. After everyone arrived, the guides provide a short introductory talk, safety briefing and paddle instruction before setting of on the adventure.

We paddle from Clifton 4th beach across the bay to Clifton 1st beach, admiring the magnificent natural surroundings and beautiful views of Lions Head, Table Mountain and the 12 Apostles. On the way, we learn a little bit about the history of Clifton and the most expensive real estate in Africa.

We visit a small seal colony at Duikers Rock and explore the kelp forests and rock pools towards Maiden's Cove side. For the more adventurous guests we offer diving masks to have a peek below the water and admire the kelp forests, while the less adventurous guests soak up the sun on the kayaks.

We head back to Clifton 4th beach where guests get to paddle a bit on their own before returning to the beach.

The whole experience lasts approx. 90 min.

Ian was the perfect knowledgeable host. We were blessed with calm clear waters. So much so we saw corals, starfish and plenty fish on our route. Visited the small seal colony just off the beach and plenty of sea birds including cormorants and oystercatchers. Exceptional views towards the mountains and out to sea. I kayak a lot and this was one of my favorite paddles ever. Thank you 🙏

Just spent a great morning with Kayak Clifton. Amazing team that made our experience even more enjoyable. The area that they kayak in is absolutely beautiful with views of lions-head, twelve apostles and the Clifton Bay. I love the guided tour through the Kelp Forest. Highly recommend this experience with the Kayak Clifton team

From the get go - Kayak Clifton has been nothing short of Fantastic, answering my numerous questions and allowing me to reschedule when I could not make it. The day of the trip was brilliant weather and the guides fantastic. It was the BEST experience - the group was great, the view was spectacular, the guides were interactive - felt really safe. The swim was freezing but thrilling. I cant wait to go again :)
