Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Montana de Montserrat, 08199 Montserrat Spain

The Rocky Massif of Montserrat has been declared as Natural Park in 1987, and characterised by the rounded shape of its peaks. This incredible 4000-foot wonder is easily recognizable by its ''serrated'' top from which it got his name.

Once you reach the monastery, you have plenty of options and your guide will always adjust to your interests. We invite you to take an easy walk of around 30 min to enjoy one of the most astonishing views of the natural park, but if you wish you can also decide to enjoy other activities that the mountain offers.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Abadia de Montserrat, Carretera BP-1121 S/N, 08199 Montserrat Spain

Visit the Basilica of Montserrat, house of the serene image of the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia, a poly chrome Romanesque carving dating from the 12th century.

The legend says that in the year 880 some shepherd boys found a statue of the black madonna, the "Moreneta", in a grotto. A chapel was built on this site that soon became a place of pilgrimage.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Funicular de Sant Joan, Pl. Espanya station lobby Operates in the area around Mare de Déu de Montserrat abbey. From the abbey esplanade, the Sant Joan railway connects with the highest part of the mountain, 08691 Montserrat Spain

Decide with your small group of 8 pax if you want to enjoy a ride in the rack railway that will bring you at the top of the holy mountain. Enjoy astonishing views along the way.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Sant Jeroni, Montserrat Spain

Reach the peak of the holy mountain to enjoy a bird's eye view of the entire Montserrat Monastery and of the natural park. On clear days, you will enjoy uninterrupted views of the whole of Catalunya.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Aeri de Montserrat, Ctra C-55 , Km 11,5, 08199 Monistrol de Montserrat Spain

If you skipped the funicular, you can enjoy the cable car, a breathtaking journey over the Llobregat River and Valley, up the mountain and right up to Montserrat Monastery.

The cable car first started running in 1930. It travels at a speed of 5 metres per second and at a gradient of up to 45%.

This is a trip that is not for the faint heart - you will be travelling 1350 metres up the mountain in a small hanging car! However, if you are not afraid of heights, you will be in for a really memorable and rewarding experience.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Montserrat Museum, Montserrat Spain

If you wish, you can also decide to visit the Montserrat museum. It has an important section of early paintings, spanning the 13th to the 18th centuries, with works by El Greco, Caravaggio as well as a large collection of Catalan paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries that includes major names such as Fortuny, Rusiñol, Casas, Picasso and Dalí but also of French impressionism such as Chagall, Braque, Le Corbusier, Miró, Dalí and Picasso.

Carlos was the best tour guide we have ever had! Aside from his knowledge of the mountains, the monastery and the surrounding area, he made the day fun. His outgoing and upbeat personality put a group of strangers completely at ease with each other.

Eduardo was a great guide and gave us a substantial amount of history for the city and the monastery as well. It was nice to talk about the history of Spain and how certain events have led to the current state of affairs.

This tour was one of the best our family has been on! Carlos, our tour guide, was extremely attentive and engaged with his group very well. We were able to learn so much but at the same time have fun whilst exploring Montserrat.

What a great tour! The Montserrat was very impressive. The Monastery was incredible and very emotional to visit. Edward was our guide and he is terrific. His passion and incredible knowledge of the area is unmatched. He added so much to this tour, so ask for him. He told us to go to Cerveceria Catalana for tapas. What a recommendation, thanks Edward, it was incredible.
