Overview

Are you passionate about sweets? Do you want to discover the origin of the best pastries? If you can’t resist the coques, nougat or turrón/ torrons, chocolates, cakes and croissants, Sweet Barcelona is your tour.

It is said that the sweet tradition of Barcelona is as old as the origins of the city. In the historic Roman colony of Barcino, our ancestors already ate desserts with honey and nuts.

Coques and digestive liqueurs such as moscatell were already popular in the Middle Ages as well as many varieties of desserts for the most important festivals of the year. With the arrival of cocoa, the possibilities of confectionery multiplied.

Today, Barcelona has become a recognized sweet destination with world-renowned pastry shops.

With Sweet Barcelona Tour, you'll learn about the ingredients, their properties and the relationship with the festive calendar. The tour will take you through traditional bakeries and ovens where we'll discover the best recipes and taste and artisan product.

We did two trips with OHMyGuide in Barcelona. One was a sweet tour and one was a Guadi tour. We are a family of 12 with Four children (ages 3-14). Both guides (Delores and Oliver) were fantastic. They were terrific with kids and easily accommodated our needs, for example, making sure we had time to get food for the kids. Cristina worked with us to find the best trips for our family. Thanks to everyone for making our Barcelona trip do enjoyable snd meaningful.

The sweets tour is a wonderful way to see the architecture of city while also learning about the culture and enjoying sweet treats! We enjoyed turron (a nougaty dessert usually eaten at Christmas), cream, hard candies, and so many other sweets we never would have tried otherwise. The neighborhood was equally interesting. Cristina is knowledgable about the city, and told us about the history and recommending other places and experiences that I never would have found otherwise. We've also been on her Sitges tour and Barcelona crimes tour and would recommend them all.

Una muy buena experiencia que te hace descubrir los sitios más dulces e históricos del centro de Barcelona. Muy recomendable tanto por los sabores que descubres como por las explicaciones de Cristina.
